  1. Could be some sort of spyware or viruses. They tend to hog CPU. Try running a few scans
  2. Moved to this section. The site appears to work....mind if i lock?
  3. its still not that difficult to fake a screenshot. It has happened in the past. edit: someone explained this to me, nvm Mac addresses can be easilly changed afaik. I dont know much about Mac addys but a simple google search told me how i could change mine. Call of Duty is a game with cd-keys, GTASA is not. There is no way to differentiate between different installations of a game unlike a commercial game like Call of Duty. This means that you cannot ban by CD-key because someone can create another account. On top of this the MTA team have no access to Rockstars CD Keys if they ever plan to implement them. GTASA also was not designed a multiplayer game. There are a tonne of methods you can use to cheat... .imgs, .dats, .ipls not to mention trainers. This means 'hack' detection isnt as easy as a commercial game would be. On the other hand i think it is pretty possible. I still dont get how you plan on them not being able to be recreated. What if you logged on to a proxy and created another account?
  4. Im pretty sure that isnt possible, let alone by glitching your way with another gun. But i kinda understand your point now. It's similar to dragons...everything revolves around Uzis.
  5. and what if people just make another account after being banned...?
  6. Don't the bots in Single Player use heavy weapons for drivebys. But i agree, i feel balance takes HEAVY priority over realism. 1) I dont think it looks stupid. Its very possible to shoot backwards while still holding onto the bike. The result is the same as real life, since when you're aiming backwards you cant see anything in front, and you are very likely to have an accident. 2) So you're saying that weapons should have 10x increased fire rate and double power as soon as someone enters the vehicle? Right, that's very realistic AND it helps the balance of the game a whole lot. 3) You're telling the MTA team to create their own animations which dont exist in the game at all...? Thatd mean editing GTAs files and to perfect creation of animations (since i havent seen ANY anim mods for GTASA as of yet) itd take a very long time and delay the release.....not to mention that none of the team have the knowledge on how to create animations 4) This may be possible, at the moment its only Uzis. DarkDragon98756 makes a decent point of weapon balance. It may be possible in future.
  7. This all looks within range of the future SDK.
  8. I dont see this heading anywhere right now, stick to the topic or this will be locked. As for MTASA support for 1.01 or 2.0. They are both possible afaik, 2.0 has some extra protection thatd need to be hacked in order for it to have support. 1.01 only has some minor changes and id say 1.01 support is much easier and more likely to happen.
  9. I disagree Check the blog, http://www.mtavc.com/blog . The team tries to give as many updates as possible - if you call it torture then i dont think you deserve any updates. Locked
  10. Whether or not they look unreal they provide a better alternative to SP drivebys, which is why i was arguing that SP ones are overpowered. Id rather sacrifice a bit of realism for a much better online experience.
  11. Actually, the normal drivebys that you do in SP are more powerful - regardless of what weapon you use the rate of fire is at least double that of when you shoot on foot. It also features an auto-aim which makes it impossible to try and dodge the shots. When you are in a moving vehicle, and trying to shoot a moving person while aiming manually, it is suprisingly harder than it sounds. Its actually more balanced. I think this system will also make you more exposed to shots.
  12. it uses the new DivX codec. It should work fi you download the divx codec, or your standard codec packs. Give VLC a shot as sprinter pointed out, it may work
  13. Yeah, im a win2k user and MTA works jsut as well as it would on XP or 2003
  14. There probably wont. These drivebys are far better than the SP ones. If anything, you'll be able to disable drivebys as driver altogether but not change to the other drivebys.
  15. try launching it directly from command prompt this is done by going into accessories, then command prompt. then enter the full path of the server. I've found this has worked when i had similar problems
  16. This has been suggested before, a simple search for 'collsions' showed this. So i dont see the point in this topic. Thanks for the suggestion, but i think itd be better if you head your ideas over to http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=16649 where a topic has already been started.
  17. Try installing all options available in the install program. If that doesnt work, check you have a 'race' folder inside the 'mods' folder inside your MTA San Andreas installation directory
  18. Sorry its a problem with the hosting. please wait a few days as it gets fixed and try again. Alternatively get Firefox ( http://www.getfirefox.com ) because the bug only occurs in IE due to its crappy timeout times or something along those lines.
  19. MTA does not modify any of "Rockstar Games" files - directly editing the .exe would be illegal. Similarly, hex editing MTA would be against the EULA and therefore any hex edits of any of MTAs files posted will be removed immediately unless they have the team's consent.
  20. Try updating to 1.1.1

    Who is Sirius

Right. Well Sirius left the MTA team to persue a career in magic - i personally think he was better off over here. Maybe he'd still be alive today if he'd stuck to one path.
  22. Deathmatch will have a map editor like race. And as we've said time and time again, the release date is unknown
