Assuming you are trying to get gta3 working and not gtavc... Start your game in single player, and if it says '1.1' in the top left corner, its obviously 1.1. Otherwise you have a GTA3 1.0 version, and will need to upgrade

Tires are already sync'd, and shooting gas tanks has purposly been disabled because it is overpowered, and i could imagine it getting very annoying

Actually, if you notice cars have no collision temporarilly for a few seconds after respawn, if i remember correctly. That means this is possible, i think. -
using large weapons to driveby is possible, but i think its more of an issue of balance - drivebying with heavy weapons can be too powered

OMG eAi actually played a game! Well, i like the idea, and am pretty familiar with guildwars. But i think an MMORPG should be adapted around GTA. SA happilly suplies us Stats for players (mmm sex appeal) which could be made much harder to achieve by haxing it, along with nice car mods where players can save up to buy nice cars...races - the possibilities are endless. Maybe itd be best to have a GTA style mmorpg instead

Well its been a while since the QA reported any news. Recently we recieved a new alpha release - and things are shaping up very nicely. I feel the current alpha is of a very high standard and maybe even worthy of release. But the team are constantly adding features to make this perfect - they've been working hard at cramming as much as possible and I know they're as desperate to get this thing out as you are. Weapon sync is shaping up nicely and our latest alpha has improved from our last and as past videos suggest - the shots are deadly accurate. We've also got some improvements to drive-bys and new explosion sync...grenades have the same effect on all screens We've left you guys with some eyecandy to feast on: Oh that's right, I didn't mention trains, did I? With more and more features being added the first beta is on the horizon. The team are on a tight schedule and working to get it to you as soon as possible - hold on - it'll be worth the wait. About the QA? Well we're testing more than ever, finding and locating bugs, to keep up with the teams' fast development. - Talidan, QA Team

Well, there are quite a few fixes that would need to be done for the next race. But with the new fixes comes time taken to track bugs down and fix them...then beta testing of the fixes, then if further bugs arise from the testing those need to be fixed. The whole process will take a few weeks - far too long when DM is a much higher priority

didnt notice this topic. Well, there have been plans for another race mod, to fix some vital issues. But the team have a completely filled plate with DM. Even race 1.1 delayed DM a fair bit. i too think there should be an update to race, but because of the sheer demand for DM and the amount of work required for DM it should be prioritised. i think a DM release will be more worth it. So yes, race is being delayed because of DM

I think this is because GTA3MTA packs a lot into the .scm and it puts a lot of load onto GTA3, which gives it other side effects. I thought this was fixed in 0.5 though? well anyhow, this issue was much worse in 0.4.1. It shouldnt really affect gameplay in anyway

is MTA the only game facing problems with your external IP? You may want to try other games to see if its a problem outside of MTA

MTA does not edit main.scm (it doesnt need to) and the number of passengers is decided in the collision afaik, not the scm for sure -
In answer to question 2 MTA is a free mod and the devs are not payed. The fact that the connection times out suggests it might be a firewall problem. Please check if its allowing MTA to connect. Also, make sure you select a Vice City map from the all seeing eye or the MTA client will not connect.

I dont see anything but a modded HUD there. You may want to post details on the gamemode and how it keeps the GTA style sense. Im sure a lot of the HUD will be possible though.

Thanks to CHAIN and TonyMantana for this solution: Do the following. 1) Press CTRL+ALT+Delete 2) Press the 'G' button 3) Press ALT+E That should try to end the task of MTA. You arent the only one with this problem and that is a temmporary solution
