    GTA San Andreas 2

It'll definitely come out on PC but I'm not sure whether that will be after a console release or not. Does anyone know if Rockstar renewed their contract with Sony?
  2. I think he means "on what grounds?". He was unbanned and put on "probationary status" which means that any misbehaviour will result in a straight ban.
  3. ... but your name's above your head already. I noticed that Bump said you could have custom skins as a mod so presumably everyone would have to have the mod installed. It wouldn't be worth creating one just so you can have your name on your back, and other people won't download it just for that reason.
  4. The only way to achieve this at the moment is to install GTA3 twice to different directories and have one for mods and a clean one for MTA.
  5. Kenny, you can persuade people to play their roles by giving them extra points for killing a specific gang and disabling friendly fire for your own gang. And isn't the whole purpose of the police to "disturb" people? But yeah, having AI controlled players would be hard to code realistically without high server loads.

    GTA San Andreas 2

Isn't Liberty City Stories for the PSP basically GTAIII 2?
  8. It's http://www.game-monitor.com (note the hyphen)
  9. They probably don't know that themselves yet.
  10. You need to change the resolution in single player in order to avoid this.
  11. Yeah, it's definitely more of an RPG-style feature. Paying someone else to kill for you in deathmatch would be kind of pointless.

    Huh?

I will admit that the 0.5 download page offers so many options that it can be quite confusing. It would be better if there were server and client links and each took you to a separate download page listing mirrors and relevant information.
  13. They've said that Blue will offer them more ways of detecting cheating. It will also allow people like Fayte more control over their third party anti-cheat programs.
  14. What does that mean exactly? (btw, Stone Age people were scared of their own shadows) I don't think there are any plans to "convert" another game to multiplayer, although they have stated that the Blue core could in theory be used for other games.
  15. Actually the Known Issues thread only refers to the main MTAClient.exe executable. The image shown above clearly states that the "virus" is detected in the Uninstall.exe file, which is new to me. I could understand it detecting the main exe for virus-like activity because it edits GTA's memory addresses but the uninstall utility doesn't (or at least shouldn't) do this. Therefore it sounds as if you do actually have a virus. It may not necessarily have been in the file when you downloaded it but the virus may have attached itself to that file.
  16. Sorry Blade, eAi's right. Could we get back on topic please.
  17. That's a good point actually that no-one's brought up before. Presumably they'd have some sort of basic error handling mechanism for the API because otherwise they're going to get lots of error reports for bugs in third party mods that they have no control over.
  18. Or Cray. He's the head programmer if I recall correctly.
  19. So if MTA:SA turned out to be better than SA-MP, that was your excuse, right?

Erm... it's an exe file so it shouldn't require you to specify an application. Are you sure you downloaded the one from this page? http://www.mtavc.com/mta05/download.php Sounds like you may have downloaded the MTA:SA preview clip at the top of the homepage by mistake.

Just double click the icon on the desktop to start MTA. You should know whether you have GTA3 or Vice City installed (or both), so it's a matter of clicking the "Servers" button and selecting Vice City or GTA3 from the dropdown box there. Once you've found a server, click Connect and you will be asked to browse to your GTA3 / VC folder, depending on which server you selected. These will be located by default in your C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games folder. The MTA manual that is located in the Start Menu should help.

    Server

Just close down the server application.

    question

If you want to play GTA with mods, it is advisable to install it again into another folder and have 1 modded version and 1 clean version for MTA.
  24. If you mean playing against computer controlled players, no.
