    Get as much RAM as possible. RAM is the cheapest upgrade you can get, yet it's surprisingly effective. And Rockstar said the more RAM, the better. My Mac has a nifty feature that shows you what proportion of an application's memory usage is RAM and what proportion is virtual memory (i.e. stored on the hard disk). It's a real eye-opener that has caused me to buy a 1 GB stick of RAM. I'm not certain if Windows' Task Manager has this.
  4. If you think you have the skills to be part of the development team, you can always apply (email Cray or IJs). They're always looking for new team members even if they don't specifically make requests for them.

  6. Yeah, but I'm sure the time period before it reverted back was shorter in GTA3/VC.
  7. The only thing that annoys me about the default camera is that when you reverse and then go forwards again, it takes ages for the camera to flip from front to behind view and you can't see where you're going.
  8. They built the last one up from the beginning... It's because they use different methods of interfacing with the game, I believe.
  9. Good work Fayte. P.S. You might want to change the name to something other than PunkBuster as I believe that name is copywritten. That's presumably the reason why MTAMA uses the term Punk Catcher (or something like that).

  16. That's reserved for {DBC}Lance If you're not a mod, admin or team member, the only alternatives are "Ass whooped" and "Forum idiot" and you probably don't want those.

    Yes, but as njr1489 pointed out, rocket launchers will be synced (hopefully in the first release) which should balance it out.
  18. To find servers, try http://www.gamemonitor.com instead of the in-game server browser if it doesn't work for you. But I agree with Talidan - it really does sound like a firewall problem.

    The current core is but MTA:SA uses the new Blue core. But anyway, I can guarantee that the MTA team will not attempt to include peds in the first MTA:SA release. Later releases, possibly. I'm pretty sure that a third party mod developer will try to do it though, and it will be interesting to see how successful they are.

    What else is there? Matrox used to be a contender but they haven't released a card for ages. There's onboard graphics I suppose, but I highly doubt that SA would run at all on a system with onboard graphics.
  22. They don't know what the community will request, the bugs that will be present in Blue, etc, so they can't answer that question.
  23. That's a matter of opinion really. I liked the GTA3 support of the 0.4 and 0.5 clients.
  24. I think you should always spawn near another player but far enough from them to prevent spawnwars.
