  1. Deathmatch is, for obvious reasons, but it could be included as another mode.
  2. So why did they include property buying as an important element in single player then? I think it could work if it was balanced and there was a real incentive to buy property. Edit: Oops, just seen your reply.
  3. I think what annoys people is that the adverse weather (i.e. anything other than sun) occurs more often and generally for longer periods of time in MTA than it does in single player.
  4. It's always puzzled me why server admins install scripts so that they can say "!sun" the minute it starts to get foggy. If they don't like the weather option, why don't they just switch it off? They probably don't know the option's there Oh, and also, GTA3:MTA doesn't have synced weather, so you could play that instead.
  5. It could have been another forum that I saw it on though.
  6. Are you sure this wasn't posted on here before? This is the third time I've seen it.
  7. It can be switched off in the server settings.
  8. http://www.computerandvideogames.com/r/ ... ry.php(que)id=109387 C&VG has a massive preview of San Andreas. I still can't believe that this game runs on a PS2. They also summarised two of the missions:
  9. so u knew about a little group called mta b4 they made it? i think thats what anthrax means by it not makin any sense No, he meant that it didn't make any sense because slothman said that he was going to get it in case MTA made a version for it. He then said that he would have got it anyway, which disagrees with the first statement.
  10. The fact that you see blood shows that you're hitting them at your end. However, they don't die because by the time the packet saying that you've shot at them reaches their PC, they've moved, so as Mad_Boy said, try to allow for that movement. MTA is unique among multiplayer games in that in a 1 vs 1 between a low ping and high ping player, the high pinger will have the advantage.
  11. But you have to pay a subscription fee for internet access anyway. I agree with what Mad_Boy and Kent say, however good graphics can improve the immersivity of a game, and hence improve the gameplay further. Given a choice between one or the other, though, I'd go for gameplay.
  12. Well, Intel's invented a technology called WiMAX, which gives hotspot broadband access to people with laptops or those who live in rural areas which don't have cabled broadband. But it's not going to be featured in any products until at least 2005.
  13. You have to keep a low profile, so you're signing up with your clan tags? Anyway, an admin should be able to sort out your problem. Try Blokker_1999, MrBump or IJs (I think Cray might be one but I'm not sure).
  14. Version 1.1 isn't a necessary patch. It fixes graphical corruption that some people had with 1.0, but if you didn't have that, you don't need it.
  15. Yep, I get that too. Wouldn't it be better for the tool to try to update itself before an error occurs (such as when VC starts)?
  16. Yeah, I expect they'd sync it for modders, but I'm not sure that it would be featured in deathmatch.
  17. Pay 'n' Sprays are in GTA3:MTA 0.4. They're useful if you have a fast car that you don't want to lose that is damaged. I think it just repairs it - I don't think the colour changes, from what I can recall. The bomb garage was discussed ages ago, and the team were reluctant to put it in because it would probably be used to death (if you'll pardon the pun). Everyone would be fitting bombs and parking the cars back at their spawn points for an easy kill. There's no skill element involved in the kill and no way to avoid it, unless they did something where you had to drive for a certain amount of time before it deactivated (like that Love Fist mission).
  18. I tried that and the error reporter came up with no problems. And thanks, eAi, I was going to suggest that it minimised the window.
  19. I think Blokker_1999 is in charge of the site, so you could PM him.
  20. Do you have a separate install of GTA for cheats and a separate install of GTA for MTA?
  21. Oh, and I've just heard that CS:Source and Half-Life: Source (the port of the original game) have been submitted as well.
  22. I thought that message might be something to do with Visual Studio because it mentioned debugging (and I remember that it modified some of my exception dialogs when I had Windows Me), so I uninstalled it but still the same message. Most of the time though (without this utility), I get the Windows "Send Error Report" dialog. Also, Scorp, I found that button-mashing whilst waiting to spawn works quite often
  23. Yep, I installed it manually at first and got that message. I then used the installer and still got the same message.
  24. It doesn't work for me. Instead of getting that dialog, I get the normal one:
  25. Probably not - I have never ever crashed whilst playing on a LAN.
