If you know what you're doing, IE can be perfectly safe. Somewhat ironically, IE is the one that n00bs tend to use, and the more "l33t" users tend to use Firefox.
-
Nah, they'd never do that.
-
I suppose nothing is guaranteed, but they won't make outrageous claims.
-
It doesn't sound as if there'll be any problems. If you do experience any slowdowns though, it'll be due to the RAM.

I don't really keep up with HL1 mods much, but I'm looking forward to Eternal Silence 2, Citizen-132, Jedi Timeline - the list goes on (they're all for HL2 btw).
-
I doubt they will do this, but I thought it best to keep people notified, even if it is just speculation. I don't think that Rockstar would incorporate multiplayer in a half-hearted way, which is what 2-player would be. They've gone all the way with San Andreas, including all sorts of small details, so I would expect similar attention to detail in multiplayer.

http://www.homelanfed.com/index.php?id=26728 They reckon it would only be a simple multiplayer mode such as PvP or 2-player co-op though.

The Consoles Are Holding Back The GTA Series From Supremacy
orappa replied to ELEMENT3465's topic in General MTA discussion
I think you just discounted your own argument there. -
Ok, fair enough. At least despite my constant pestering you haven't said no completely.

Everyone hates Russell Crowe.

No, I meant the PC game figure. -
help on making a MTA server with a wireless conection ip
orappa replied to a topic in General MTA discussion
A wireless router is exactly the same as a wired one in terms of addressing. Go to http://www.whatismyip.org to find out your external IP. Also, you may need to forward ports on your router. To find out how to do this, go to http://www.portforward.com/routers.htm -
god bless the man who invented gta.....

I wouldn't say that GTA was the best SP game I've ever played. I think that praise goes to Deus Ex, but MTA's the best MP game I've played. -
Ah ha!

What? Where did you get that figure from? Half-Life 2 (apparently), Deus Ex - the list goes on. -
I know they're working on the new map for GTA3, as well as incorporating a class system. It would be great to also have stunt mode in 0.4.2 for GTA3 (for both maps if possible). I often use the ramps in DM for fun, and it would be good for stunting because it's not as flat as VC.

[MOD]GTATournament: online Multiplayer (GTA San Andreas)
orappa replied to Toreno's topic in Other GTA Mods
I do agree with Smithers there. A better way of phrasing it that would have offended fewer people would be: "I believe that GTAT would benefit from an extended developmental period in which stability could be targeted." -
I don't think so. eAi started that before he was even on the team, which presumably is the reason why he no longer has time to work on it. Plus, it's probably no longer necessary in Blue. I really hope they do make a version for GTA3 though.
-
Stunt mode wasn't planned to be included, but they got it working at the last minute. That's why no changes were made.
-
but the message says "could not find version" or something like that, I've always thought it was supposed to be automatic, would be very handy though cause there is a lot of people that can't figure out changing the version in the client window. Couldn't you get it to read the exe file size and determine what version it was? Kent said that Blue does this automatically. He said that obviously they never bothered to check whether it works for cracked versions though.
-
I always switch it off when playing for two reasons. Firstly, it uses up precious memory and CPU cycles and secondly, I'm too busy playing the game to multi-task.

"prolly" means "probably" apparently. Oh, and he meant Aeron, not Aron.

I usually only have 2 or 3 IE windows open at a time anyway. When IE screwed up on my other machine, I ran Netscape and couldn't find a use for tabbed browsing then either. Also, I have the Google toolbar installed so I can easily type a search query into the box, but I always choose to go specifically to the site (which happens to conveniently be my homepage). That's the way I choose to work. Speaking of clones, I can't really tell the difference between Firefox, Opera and Netscape. However, I do agree that MS seem to be putting less effort into IE now that they have such a high market share. I don't think it's a matter of how many sites you visit, but more what kind of sites you visit. I mainly visit forums and news sites, all of which are completely trustworthy.

I doubt the team would, as they're trying to emulate single player, but a modder could to an extent.

I don't recall there being an update since the release of SP2 yet.
