  1. After I copied that file across, whenever I try to run MTA:VC, it gets past the title movies and comes up with the loading screen. I then hear a "ding" and alt + tab out to see a message box saying "The required file 'scm_vice.ini' could not be found." Clicking "ok" on the box closes VC. As soon as I delete the .asi file, the problem goes away and MTA runs as normal. Oops... I've just noticed what it says in your opening post. It doesn't say that in the readme included in the zip file.
  2. Possible using Blue's modding capabilities perhaps?
  3. Do the loading screens normally take a long time?
  4. That's great news. Will something like this be incorporated into Blue by default?
  5. Valve has just sent its release candidate of HL2 to Vivendi. If Vivendi approve it, this will result in Half-Life 2 going gold, which in turn should result in a release in the next couple of weeks (probably slightly longer for Europeans though). I’m currently not sure whether Steam users who pre-ordered Half-Life 2 or who have ATI vouchers will get the game as soon as it goes gold, or whether they will have to wait until the boxed copy is released before unlocking the HL2 preload. Confirmed by Gamespot: http://www.gamespot.com/pc/action/halfl ... 07603.html
  6. It's already been delayed, but only by a week. It's nice that they told us in advance though *looks at Valve*
  7. Strange... I get that problem in GTA3 normally, not Vice City. It happens when the engine is strained. You're not running any modifications or trainers are you? If not, try joining servers with lesser player counts.
  8. I still found Goldeneye difficult to control, and that analogue stick was uncomfortable to keep pressed for long periods of time (i.e. running a long distance).
  9. Yeah, eAi said that he spent 4 months on the shooting code alone.
  10. For the moment, anyway. MTA: Blue claims to fix all of that.
  11. They haven't yet confirmed an Xbox version. It was omitted from Take 2's financial report.
  12. I posted about this ages ago in the "Pool your resources about San Andreas" thread.
  13. You are playing the latest version, aren't you (0.4.1)? 0.3 had a really dodgy aiming system where the best method that I found was to shoot them in the kneecaps and wave the weapon from side to side until it reached their "sweet spot". But in 0.4 they drastically improved it so that it's nearly perfect.
  14. You need to connect to a server before you can change the "game info" stuff, at which point, I believe, is when it will prompt you for your game path. Just use the All Seeing Eye server browser to find servers: http://www.udpsoft.com/eye2/index.html
  15. That was the problem with GTA3:MTA 0.3b. They set a date that was too ambitious and they had to rush the project in order to release it on time.
  16. But surely saying "ETA 1 month" is saying a (albeit vague) date?
  17. Ah yes, but you're forgetting that the rocket launcher is synced and grenades now work properly. Also, with reduced lag, it'll be easier to shoot out tyres.
  18. You can bump it on top of other stickies.
  19. I don't see it as unbalanced. It's not like you can perform a drive-by with a rocket launcher, and shooting out the vehicle's tyres will really screw up the guy's aiming.
  20. I don't see how you could have a low ping and a low framerate. When the server pings the clients, it sends a short packet which they then reply to. If the computer is busy processing all of the graphical features of the game, then there's going to be a delay until it processes the ping packet and sends a reply (hence the ping is higher)... if that makes sense. What's your graphics card? If you have a slow card and/or it has a low amount of memory, that would affect texture loading.
  21. MTA:Blue's features hadn't been announced at that point.
  22. This question was asked before, but I don't recall it being answered...
  23. No, there's an illegal MTA:LC mod, but I think that's been discontinued, if I remember rightly.
  24. Yeah, that's the minimum requirement. The recommended one says "Intel Pentium IV or AMD Athlon XP processor", but doesn't state any speeds.
  25. One question: I know this is a low priority, but has such incompatibility been resolved (or at least researched) with Blue?
