  1. Why kick and annoy them? Every game has people on slow connections.
  2. Yeah, true. But London wasn't as fashionable in the 70s as it was in the 60s. It was "the" place to be.
  3. I didn't like GTA: London very much. Despite living in Britain, I couldn't get used to driving on the left hand side of the road in a computer game. Plus it was kind of cliched as well. But a remake would definitely be interesting.
  4. So you're saying that gameplay isn't a factor in popularity then?
  5. It was actually bigger (by about 15-20%), but he's since resized it. Unfortunately you can't see the chat box as well as you could previously.
  6. It may be for the server list, controlling how many packets your machine sends out per second.
  7. That chat box looks really nice, especially the font.
  8. Do you mean 0.3b, where the cars couldn't take damage?
  9. Well, it was printed in a magazine, but the stats came from http://www.csports.net Unfortunately I can't give you a link because their site uses loads of Javascript and you can't link to any pages. But if you browse around you should find it (btw, they list it as "Grand Theft Auto" rather than MTA). At the time of writing, the site's down for emergency maintenence, but it should be back up in a couple of hours. Edit: I tell a lie - you can link to pages by clicking the "Add to Favourites" link in the corner of the page (it didn't work last time I tried): http://www.csports.net/ModStats.aspx?Matrix=67&Mod=3137
  10. They may know their own abilities, but they have no way of knowing what could happen in the future to delay the release. Also, surely the Half-Life 2 fiasco has proved that it's far better to say "When it's done"?
  11. MTA hasn't changed much because the core for those 3 versions has remained the same because they've been working on the new core for almost a year. But MTA 0.4 did have the massive addition of GTA3 support into the same client.
  12. Yes, but why choose those specific characters?
  13. December 2004 (the one with the HL2 review). It's only a small bit in the online section. It's under the StatZone box on p.104. Oh, and speaking of PC Zone, you may remember this topic: http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=7059 I recently found out that they did include MTA on the CD in the May (I think) issue, only I didn't notice because I don't use the CDs and only checked the "On the Disks" section of the mag, where it wasn't mentioned.
  14. Because a large majority of players are American, you have to know what sort of time to connect. I've found that there are normally a lot at around 9.00pm GMT.
  15. Yeah, a multi-language site and client would be nice. Some stats from the latest issue of PC Zone: Top 10 Countries Playing MTA (week ending 7th September 2004) USA - 84,428 (player hours x 1000) Russian Fed. - 5,450 Great Britain - 2,406 Finland - 2,356 China - 2,350 Sweden - 1,522 Ukraine - 532 New Zealand - 408 Czech Republic - 376 Germany - 316 That's a difference of 84,112,000 player hours between America and Germany.
  16. Hmm... that's strange. Have you tried updating your graphics card drivers? That may help.
  17. Nah, it would come up with an MTA error message, not a Windows exception.
  18. The official site now has radio station previews (under the Soundtrack section).
  19. I don't think the sudden switch over to co-op for a couple of missions would be suited for LAN play, whereas it would be quite easy on a PS2 as you just pick up the second controller.
  20. Isn't it scheduled for October 2005?

    MTA:AC Project

I suppose it depends on when Blue for VC is released. There will be a lot of pressure on the team to release a client for SA when it is released for PC, so if Blue is released shortly before the PC release of SA, they'll probably choose to sidestep GTA3 and develop for SA.
