::starts to dislike the mta installer:: what does that ini do exactly, someone was saying that the error is occuring because the client doesn't refresh the info to the game, is it perhaps related to something like that?

To those who have unintalled v.3 and installed 2.2, remember that the official servers are now .3 instead of .2.2,, be sure to test on a .2.2 server, or it won't work at all i've found. I had the radar problem as well, uninstalled, put .2.2 back on, and it works fine with .2.2 servers, altho those don't currently include the official ones, it's better than nothing til they patch it up. BTW, why is it so important you get on blaze, last time i saw you, you were sitting there spamming out of game, not to criticize or anything...no wait it is criticization.

hmm, i dunno, R* has teams of coders at their disposal, by the time this mod reaches how to say, proffesional standards, R* could make 2 or three mp mods if they wanted to. They just ...chose...not to...::shrug::

well, he has a point, i'm not sure exactly what coding is sent to tell other players that a player switches weapons, but i'm sure there has to be a set code per each weapon. So if the server side app recieves "minigun", it kicks the user who's client it was sent from. It makes sense to me, at least :\

Seth, this happens for various reasons, first the topic of proxies. If you already know this info, it's just fyi in case, but basically a lot of people have dynamic ips, say 1.2.*.* so the mods will ban that range, and a lot of times it will block a whole bunch of people who don't most likely play mta along with the offender. As for the punching thing, it's due to packet loss on one of the sides. So yeah, hunt down a an admin as said earlier and explain your case. GL

it kinda comes with experience, some people use a map mod to get up there and mess with the screen, but i see them as no better than cheaters

it IS really sad, and even worse is that a certain amount of effort must be put into it. So you have to be so desperate to win, and then you jump on and you get flamed til you are black on both sides. I honestly don't see how it is worth cheating either way. But then again it's another one of those taboo cliche kinda things that comes with a mp mod in development.

Well i got a fliptop this year, put it on, and well, it won't read any cd's. It just says no data until i put in a memory card, it will read that, but doesn't seem to even attempt to read the cds. It doesn't even spin the disc, Aynone perhaps know what's wrong? Thx in advance

yeah i use the ps2 dual shock, standard ones. the ems usb adapter will do psx or ps2. but if you want to use xbox, GC, whatever, they can be converted and mapped the same way with a slightly different adapter.

i use no cds for the simple reason of speed. reading the cd, verifying, takes forever compared to a nocd patch, it's kind of like "i want to play NOW dangit" lol

Kensginton, oh boy, I hold a personal grudge against them. We had an old pc with one of their old ergo-track balls. go to uninstall it, the drivers stuck, so we put another ps2 mouse in, wouldn't work...we had to format the entire drive and reinstall everything to put a new mouse in. AH i hate kensington, so far as i've sen their little extra apps are horribly coded and the resources they take are completely not worth what they do. I went out and got me a 25 dollar M$ optical intelli mouse, works great.

It all comes down to "there's always some one equal or better" if the person has the knowledge, and wants to cheat, they will. NOW RECENTLY a lot of schools were out for thanksgiving, and I noticed there was a drastic increase of cheating. Kind of how $mr.vercetti$ disappears everynight around 10 on weekdays, it's obvious he goes to school. If you're in elementary-highschool and don't cheat, no offense, but it's a "come with the the territory" kind of thing. Best fix for cheating is play in more off times, theres always someone on mta, no doubt about that, even if it doesn't fit my schedule, i usually won't play til about 11pm (central). Or during the midday if possible.

me and my friends use a nifty little program named "NetMeetng" it comes on most windows platforms, doesn't lag any pc that would be able to play gta, only difficulty is swapping the netmeeting and gta volume to a level of your preference

Go to your default gateway ip, for current belkins it is 192.168.2.1 in internet explorer. there will be a section named special application ports, just put 2003 in one of the slots and enable it. for linksys, i think it's called port fowarding, for other routers, it will be something similar.

yeah i saw that too, the smoke grenades, but i don't think they did damage, the camera which, well i don't know why the hel he spwaned that, i've also gotten a sniper rifle off of him, which i hope he knows doesn't work on characters lol.
