I don't see your point. If you're suggesting that releasing a video is taking time away from development, you are mistaken. Like I said if you don't want a video.. don't watch it. Anyway, what matters in the end is the quality of the mod, not how pissed off people got while they were waiting.

Don't worry, we won't force you to watch it. You can pretend it doesn't exist if it makes you happier.

Point it to your GTA:SA directory (Program Files/Rockstar Games/....). You must, of course, have GTA:SA installed before installing the MTA.

Do you have the game installed and are you pointing the downgrader to your gta-sa.exe?

GTA3 is pretty dead, but some of us play on occasion.

Open the proper ports if you have a firewall.

MTA doesn't modify any of your files so it doesn't affect any other mods. Other mods can affect it, however.

I very much doubt there would be an MTA for GTA4 if it already had multiplayer. If the team is still around it would be nice to see them update VC or even GTA3.

I think we're more interested in maps made from custom objects than any default maps.

Synchronizing pedestrians would be very bandwidth consuming, so only a limited number of real players would be allowed to play. What's more likely is that they sync a limited number of bots that perform specific tasks, but I doubt that will be in the first release. However, they could give the illusion of a living world like this:

If the railroad bars move, they aren't synced. They are totally client-side.

Of course they did, businesses do everything for money. They never left any multiplayer code in SA. They had some in GTA3, but it was useless afaik, and the MTA team made their own. I doubt they would ever leave any intentionally.

Yeah the smoking/drinking bug isn't present in DM.

I don't know, but there is a distinction between randomly generated characters on the street and special characters in missions.

This sounds like a problem with your connection. I would first figure out why disabling the firewall stops your internet from working (maybe you're not really disabling it?), then try to connect without a firewall after you've solved it. Do a virus and spyware scan too.

You can't play as special characters (Ryder, Sweet, etc.) but you can play as peds.

I'm not sure what could be the problem. Either there is something wrong with the MTA install, or maybe you have a firewall blocking you from connecting to servers. If you have a firewall or router, try disabling it and then connecting. If that fails, try uninstalling MTA (remove all traces of it, delete the folders it created) and installing it again.

We know? When exactly does it crash? Does the game load up at all?

if that is the case, then will u guys focus entirely on SA even after 4 is released? If they're still around, they'll either keep updating SA or make a new Vice City version.

If you install the game and gta-sa.set isn't present, something is wrong with your installation, not with MTA. Is this a downloaded version of the game or a retail copy? Another possibility is that it is video card related. What video card do you have, and did you change any settings (update drivers, go into it's control panel, etc.) before it stopped working? Also, when you uninstall, be sure to remove all traces of GTA:SA (delete these folders: My Documents\GTA San Andreas User Files and Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTA San Andreas).
