  1. We don't have the editor yet, but when you spawn it in DM it finds the nearest set of tracks and parks it there.
  2. That isn't the map editor, that's just a script I made for fun.
  3. Moved to Questions forum. Apply Vice City v1.1 patch if you haven't already. http://www.take2games.com/index.php?p=s ... on=patches
  4. Try closing any extra background apps and then restarting the client. MTA's cheat protection sometimes does this.
  5. It looks really good, although I think you should get rid of the side menu on the forum so you can stretch it accross the page. The banner should also be stretched to fill the width of the forum. edit: I've also noticed a couple of bugs with the forum where the forum and the text in the menus gets offset from the images (try editing your post).
  6. Don't place spawnpoints too close to eachother, if possible. Other than that, just use common sense and test the race for yourself to see how well it works.
  7. You need to buy the game to play this. Locked.
  8. MTA:SA is MTA... all you need to play the game is GTA:SA (v1.0) and MTA:SA (v1.1.1). Do you have GTA:SA (the original game)? You get MTA:SA here: http://light.mtavc.com/
  9. He's talking about GTA:SA, not MTA. There's the original v1.0 and the second edition, MTA only works with 1.0. If you don't have v1.0 then make a backup of your gta-sa.exe and use the downgrade patch (found in the Client Problems forum).
  10. Glue is fully controlled by scripts, it isn't hard-coded into every game-mode. If you think it's stupid, just don't add it to the script. Also, it should be pretty obvious to see whose cheating and who isn't. It's just a matter of knowing what the script that's running is and isn't supposed to do.
  11. Yeah he remains attached and just goes through it.

    Lua

I bet it will since you probably know about functions and control structures. 'print' has no use in MTA though.

    Lua

To code in LUA you will need basic programming knowledge, so knowing some other language like C++ will definately help. If you don't know one, then you should probably just start with LUA. Here is some documentation, you should know sections 2-5 at the very least: http://www.lua.org/pil/index.html
  14. Syncing the radio station is one thing, syncing a part of a radio station track (so that everyone hears the same song) is probably more difficult.

    Drifting

    Haha cool video, nice driving.
  16. He meant customizable animations that you can actually control. And no that isn't it, the character does that by default if you stand around for too long.
  17. They are different applications... why would you even post about compatibility with a different modification? He's a dev, I think he knows their similarities and differences very well.
  18. PC releases of this franchise happen to come at a later stage with the console installments announced to be released by october. Not to mention we don't even know if it will have proper multiplayer..
  19. That looks like it's your My Documents folder, navigate it to Program Files/Rockstar Games/GTA Vice City. Your gta-vc.exe should be there.
  20. If you don't have the file gta-vc.exe, there is something terribly wrong with your install. Can you play GTA:VC single player?
  21. Please tell me you have the game installed (GTA:VC that is).
  22. erorr404

    cant start game

Do you have the original gta-vc.exe (not a crack)? If so, try installing the VC 1.1 patch. (I'm assuming this is GTA:VC not GTA3)
  23. erorr404

    help plz

Give us more info. Try deleting your gta-sa.set file in your GTA:SA folder in My Documents.
  24. Most likely you have mods installed. You MUST have a clean, unmodified installation of GTA:SA in order to play MTA. This is required to prevent cheating.
  25. I think... the server sends data to the clients on request, meaning the clients only recieve info about players/objects/etc when the client gets close to them. I doubt that all of the map data is given to the client on connect, or that a client typically has ALL of the map data at any point.
