  2. Could all mappers please post a link to their map in this forum topic which has been uploaded to pastebin so we can easilly track them. Do this as soon as possible as they get cleared from the pastebin recent posts menu.

  5. If the objects are spread out over a wide area, does the game engine still consider them all "on screen at once?" No, even in race the object limit does not apply if you builld stuff far away from each other. I'm not sure what the exact figure is, though
  6. The original editor took one week of extremely active work, then about an extra few weeks to get bugs fixed. But the deathmatch editor must be written from scratch, and as we've constantly said - it'll be a lot more advanced. So there we cant tell how long it will take

  8. This would be a waste of time. Its been mentioned before, but itd take bandwidth and time - both of which are limited. I see your point though, its the little effects like lights that make the mod look great overall. If R* set traffic lights according to time itd help us out a whole lot >.>
  9. I think the state of the frame limiter is unconfirmed. It certainly has been altered from Race, though im not sure what the plan is for release.

  11. I like this idea, itd be nice to allow these kind of functions. However they could be pretty limiting for more advanced missions.

  13. The problem is, is that GTASA doesnt actually natively support custom player skins. VC and GTA3 did but it was taken out of gtasa due to the nature of the whole clothes system. This means that the mta team would have to implement their own skins system This could probably wait for the SDK.

    heh yeah its a shame not everyone appreciates what recourses and updates we offer compared to the other thousands of other on going projects. I think you have blokker and IJs for all the stuff you mentioned
  16. okay i havent gone through them all, but i'll go through ones that were fixed before deathmatch development started: Fixed in next race release. Fixed in deathmatch. Fixed in deathmatch (i think) i dont think this is correct. Are you sure this isnt the same issue as with the RC baron, where if 2 people shoot at the same time sound dissappears for on of them? I like some of your suggestions, they certainly would be good though i cant guarantee they'll be in the next release at this stage since DM is far into development stages and few features are still being added. Im not sure how the team are going to do it, but Deathmatch will almost definately include both race and deathmatch in the package. I'm however unsure whether fixes in race mod specifically will carry over to the r2.0 version of race. The rest of the bugs ive mentioned are core bugs and not race specific so they're fixed in dm.

    If only trustworthness wasnt an issue, theres probobly quite a few people out there would be perfect for the team but just arnt actively known. Maybe not. Wish someone would speak up or tell me im wrong. Its not just trustworthyness. Time and time again we've had beta testers who've thought beta testing MTA will be a breeze and a lot of fun. It takes real dedication to get passed the 'fun' stage and do real stress testing. We've had so many people leave the QA because they didnt realise there was more to just playing (and that's a fact).

  20. yeah mnightmare has a good perspective on this. Its very difficult to measure 'progress'. There has also been huge amounts of juggling for what's planned for r2 and r2.x. Lots of features have been pushed back so there is no definitive target.
  21. technically Blue can be ported to any engine. Isnt just cause that free roamer game where you're cops fighting terror or something that's on xbox 360? i didnt know it was on PC. maybe if there is enough demand (and a large enough community like GTA) they may work on it some day.
  22. If you sync to people's system clock you have desynced states of daylight, where people will set their time to morning to get an advantage. If you sync it according to the server - there is an issue of timezones. It'll appear like night to those who play far away from where the server is hosted. There is also the issue brophy brought up
  23. Spitfire was looking for the oldest gangs/first gangs first 5. There was no mention of 'pioneers' or 'respected' gangs anywhere. Therefore questions have been answered so im leaving it here. Locked
  24. well the title "Patching your German, 1.01 or 2.00 version of gta_sa.exe" means german, 1.01 or 2.00 version, since german 1.00's need patching for MTA too, as well as 1.01s, and 2.00s.
