To blackdragon: If you havent caught on, this is about zircon thinking that the original gangs dont deserve any special mention in the wiki. To zircon: Perhaps you arent familiar with the definitions of pioneer. In this case: Everyone except you in this topic seems to have a pretty good understanding of who the pioneers are. The list is not biased, but its not fair to include a gang just cause some guy started it and it never actually became anything, thats all I mean by surviving. Anyhow, yes you are right, pioneer is considered synonymous to old and respected by many, as I mentioned in the latter post. There is a certain respect for the pioneers most people exhibit (not you apparently). If you are questioning where the line is drawn, I think you'll find a very definitive timespan between those pioneers and the other older gangs. If I recall correctly, Blokker or another team member made the original wiki post that included those pioneers, and I'm sure they didnt have any bias, they only wanted to mention the ones that started and survived. We can have it your way, but throw a starting date next to each gang and it'll have the same effect.

Well, i think this topic is kind of nice to have. As I stated before, I'm glad samp is out to service the community. Whether MTA does better or not, samp is still there right now to give people something to enjoy. However, I think its selfish to try and contain people, in a cheap tactic to keep them from knowing the 'other mod' came out with something better. Like I said above though, it wont work anyways.

I'm sure whenever MTA is mentioned there, they have flamewars much more often. However, sure they probably want to keep them in samp and not let them be informed about MTA.

We have to allow samp to be said here or else MTA gets accused of putting down the little guy and that sort of stuff. It only gives more reason to go check em out if we do anyways. Sometimes stuff must be deleted because many people have to start flamewars as soon as the other mod is mentioned. Theres too many fanboys. Anyway word of mouth on servers defeats all the censorship. When MTA is released, guarenteed it'll be the topic of conversation on many samp servers. All they are doing is hurting themselves by not strengthing the multiplayer world in general which would attract more fans into the communities. The more material people have, the more likely they will enjoy it and stick around.

So its not your anger of the first gangs being the only ones mentioned, but my need to gloat for VCP? Well I dont know if you noticed, but Im out of VCP and I have a neutral stance. However, it has the right to be in the story of MTA's history along with those other gangs because they were the pioneers (that started and survived). Whos to say what gang is good enough to deserve mention? That is why only the first gangs were mentioned in the main section, because they were categorized as historic (with the exception of VCP being the tourney winners but thats also historic). I'm not against a section listing the gangs of past & present MTA but the pioneers do deserve special mention in the main section of MTA's history. The pioneers of ANYTHING do have prestiege, whether you like it or not. It does give them a certain quality which people admire over the newer gangs. That is probably why the topic starter asked for this information, out of admiration for the pioneers.

Does anyone around here besides me and BB101 play this awesome game? Its the best blend of city building and warring that I have ever seen. It also doesnt rely on heavy gfx, yet looks nice and supports lots of troops. Best of all, this improved sequel to the original is on the bargain bin (jewel case) at stores for $10. I'd like to find some more people to play online co-op or vs. P.S. this is my favorite game besides MTA (though they are completely different, but they cover many genres). Cars are very vulnerable as it is. Unlike past GTAs, you can continue to shoot a car until it explodes, rather than just catch fire. Given the time it takes to stop and get out of the car (not to mention people pointing and the exit point incase you do), you're looking at a death sentence unless you're crafty.

Look around sometime, you'll see that everyone is DYING for deathmatch. For now, cheaters can be taken care of with on a good server, with good admins. Anyways, you're not flying backwards, you're just flying upside down right? Given its a different camera angle, but you've accomplished nothing different. Flying backwards is impossible. Its not a cheat but its probably considered a glitch. Though, since it wouldnt really give you in advantage in winning, I dont see why anyone would care. However, if you cant stand the possible unguilty crucificaton by noobs and a silly admin, I suggest you not (since noobs wouldnt understand and might think you're cheating).

oh its just another temper tantrum cause hes from ULK and they dont apply to 'the oldest gangs' That list isnt padded, those are the oldest gangs still alive. Besides, in their time, those gangs were some of the best around. It stands more as a historic stance than a 'we are the best gangs' stance.

Hey noone bothered to answer question #2! There was 1 official tourney and VCP won it ;P back when iggy, deathb, myself, quite a few of the oldest ULK members, and some others long gone won it. It used to be on the wikipedia but noname jealous gangs wanting advertising space deface it constantly (it also mentioned the first gangs but they replace those as well). btw sloth that wouldnt be the definitive list since he wanted alive only.
