  2. Yes, good job & thanks to the people who are taking the time to make some nice maps. One suggestion I would make to anyone making a custom arena is to build in the air. It would put less load and peoples games and would also result in instant death if someone accidently/purposely escapes.
  3. I recently recieved a pm from this person also asking about things such as car colors. For now, we just want the map syntax as simplistic as possible. It won't be hard to fine-tune your map later with the other options that are available. For question 3, anything >0. But for the sake of etiquette, put 1

If there is indeed an object that holds the lettering, the best thing for you to do is download "MEd" map editor by Tony Wroblewski @ http://www.gtagarage.com/mods/show.php?id=1053, and try to click & move objects surrounding the road signs to identify which object model ID moves the lettering. I'm not sure if an object contains them, I'd assume it does. Get back on what you find. There are some strange models, I recall seing one street sign that was quite a ways off, but was part of a row of housing that lined one side of a hill for the city of San Fierro. Must have just been lazy devs fitting in last minute details wherever.

  11. Don't let the wait for deathmatch get you down, you can spend some time making a great deathmatch map! Maybe we can use it before release or at worst you'd have something to play on release day. Since theres different formats and elements for deathmatch, there are a number of changes that will be required for the map to suit us. This is because there are now weapon, health and armour pickups, plus spawns for both vehicles and players. We'd appreciate it a lot if all map makers would base their maps following this syntax. Note, this is not the actual syntax in deathmatch but it is an easy format for us to work with. Well anyways, look forward to seeing if anyones up to the challenge. Good maps may be included in the map package for the deathmatch release. You may send us your deathmatch maps through http://mta-stats.com/maps/upload.php (thanks lil_toady) . Press "Browse" and select your .map file, then upload it. Check the "overwrite" box if you want to update an old map. When you are done please inform us that you have submitted a map, mentioning the filename you used to upload it. By sending us your deathmatch map you accept the following conditions: 1. The QA/MTA team has the right to edit the map and use it in anyway we choose. 2.   17. For the longest time the official servers have been a home to massive cheater outlaws, since admin access has been pretty much zilch without the admin script running (that was ages ago). Sad to say, this certainly contributed to killing the popularity of the official servers. Since we dont have any higher ups to run the script, some of us have been entrusted with direct server access. I've recently asked IJs about shutting down the stunt server and making the deathmatch server 24 players, as the western side of the world hardly has any other good servers with larger capacity and since there are other stunt servers (which doesnt require nice pings really).

  21. lol I watched some of that and I can say I like Sony, but I didnt really make such an extensive observation. That was pretty funny, but I'm sure Sony will deliver. PS2 is the best console I've ever owned since regular nintendo I have like 30 games, since its lasted so many years (and im not a big console guy anymore). ITS RIDGE RACER!!!!... *SILENCE* RIIDDDDDDDGGGGE RACER!!!! That was real embarassing, crap game The massive fanboyism in the video and 1000+ comments is insulting though. People talking about buying systems for a game exclusive to one system are pathetic (which usually come out for other systems later, but nab them rich fanatics for their chump change) p.s.   23. double/triple posting isnt generally allowed without very good reason, use the edit button if you have to. Dont just keep posting when you have something else to say, if noone bothered replying yet.
