I've written several times including across the top of the script now that it is outdated. The main issue is the corona grows on a timer that has been invalid for awhile since clientside events such as onClientRender gave enough reason to outlaw sloppy setTimer scripting. It was slop scripted from when I was more n00b at Lua. I haven't been arsed to fix it yet but I will sometime soon I think due to popular demand... busy with college and drained when I get home atm. The quick fix would be to make sure all timers are >= 50 but it wont look quite right. I need to rewrite it. btw damn you for absorbing my name transom

So us group decided for the make benefit of population on this nautical day that will live in infamy, that February 19th is talk in Engrish day. Unlike talk like a pirate day, this appears to be our brainchild. I scavenger for official moment on google but moment not exist, so I settled for the registration day of http://www.engrish.com which is: February 19th. The problem with guns is just assholes killing people who don't want to be killed. I think a good idea to try for a freeroam server would be to set a flag eg... onPlayerJoin f1 is kill/be killed by guns and f2 is non-violent. You can have the ability to change it at anytime, with a delay in activation to avoid abuse. Then you could label the players in some manner so people know who they can and cannot shoot. An example of how to do this would be pointing at a player with a gun could show a label or an icon above the head similar to the one that pops up when typing in the chatbox on alienx freeroam. You could give timed bans (increasing times with # of offenses) for offenders. A rebuttal to this is the problem of awkward kills in which the killer cannot be identified, but that problem exists already even without the presence of guns, so it isn't a factor since theres no better alternative currently. Like arc_ says, this would be another form of server-specific modification though, not the actual original freeroam script, as it should stay sort of generic for lack of better way to say it. If it was a popular modification of the script it could make its way to the resource center and etc I guess.

potential reasons I have come up with: anticheat needed installation (serial) issues for some people controller support lots of people not understanding gamemodes (not seeing f9 for help, not enough in-your-face help) few quality scripts that hold your attention long atm (the classic dm is pretty dull it needs redoing) some sort of bug with many scripts on 1st release (just not totally prepared really, there was other things to take care of) release of map editor lack of major servers (or at least none showing daily playercounts) except in UK most of all, people used to the style of sa:mp and mta not having much near that style of game yet As you wrote about fr, there was commands but no help for it and at release telling people the commands would have lead to serious abuse. It wasn't really ready of usage in servers imo. The freeroam script running now is however, as it provides a menu of options and has sanctions against abusive actions like grabbing a minigun. There is tons of stuff for MTA just waiting to be created, hopefully good scripts will be released soon, and you can see them through the community (click the picture on main page http://www.mtasa.com ). I'm currently trying to make a drugwars game but I have a busy life right now so might be awhile... Post your complaints about MTA, we'd like to know what you want most.

The script is outdated to the current system. Mainly, event handlers go below the functions, not above them. I have yet to fix this script. The glow function will not work anymore because it must be rewritten. It spammed timer calls serverside. Timers are now protected with a minimum call time to prevent spamming like I did. This was done for obvious reasons. Sloppy coding is frowned upon. It will need to be taken care of clientSide with onClientRender, which will look much cleaner. Sorry it is not 100% functional atm.

1. First, you need to fade the player camera. If no script is running that fades the camera, it stays black. Its purpose to make MTA look clean between games, instead of showing a floating CJ over a mountain in lala land or something: http://development.mtasa.com/index.php?title=FadeCamera 2. local spawns = getElementsByType("spawnpoint", mapRoot) I dont know a reason why mapRoot would be needed here 3. local spawn = spawns[key] -- should get spawnpoint 1 for player 1 I would do local spawn = spawns[math.random(1, #spawns)] -- choose a random spawn I'm not a master of script I may be wrong.

I just randomly thought of this idea I dunno if its been done before. Rules/Steps 1. Go to http://www.google.com/images and type "# bytes" to find whatever you need. 2. Any images showing up are fair game 3. Surround the URL with tags. Under the picture, specify the next number of bytes needed for the next picture. It should be typed as "# bytes" so it can be copied and pasted. Valid numbers: 10000-99999 Other Notes: *If there is no pictures for the byte size type another number and post. *No dirty porno and such, read forum rules. mrjax revealed a big secret on another one of these threads heh... the devs rarely play. They literally have spent SO MUCH time coding the damn thing that it no longer interests them to play it. Don't get me wrong they still will get ingame (I mean with other people, not debugging alone like they usually do) for finding bugs every now and then, but there is no such thing as them playing behind closed doors having the time of their lives. I can't even remember the last time I actually played a game with a dev that wasn't a bug test. You want to hear that things didn't go as planned? Okay, granted. Yes it is taking a long time and yes its still not ready, there are some bugs still. Is it because there is some secret malicious nature about the MTA team? No. So enough of the silly posts. Blowing off steam isn't helping at all. -
