there are gates in both gta3 and vc that only open if someone is standing on 1 side of them, if you use these sliding gates, you could imprison someone untill someone else comes to free them. and yes, that cutscene does open the doors. before the cutscene they are closed, and after the cutscene they are open. so conceivably this can be changed just the same way as the construction building or the haitian drug factory can be made to appear blown up, or the gates between islands in vc could be opened.

go download mtama, it has a well written manual that comes with it. also run a forum search, there are lots of existing mtama help threads in the forum that covers almost all problems that may arise. overall its not complicated if you just do some reading before asking for help.

heres something that has always confused me. A while back, i was trying out a huge mod (that zombie one) where it said to use the img editor to remove and replace all the files. but instead I just copied them into the same directory, and it worked fine (and this is a very advanced mod) So can someone explain why it's important to edit the img?

hmmm, good question. I guess how hard it is will depend on the people i play against. if they all glitch and depend on lag to play, then they are in for a harsh wakeup. but in the same token, all the problems with the current release could be holding THEM back, and It's ME who might be suprised.... now i'm all worried heheh, not really. I actually beleive I'll do even better with 100% syncing. I guess we will have to wait and see.

that shouldnt be neccesary jani. vinny, comment out the gameip llines, those are not neccesary unless you have 2 network cards. (just like blokker said) also, aside from the router, check to see if you have other firewalls (windows firewall, norton security) and when trying to connect to your own server, type "localhost" in the ip bar, not either ip addresses. If others still cant connect to you, call your isp and ask them if they are blocking the traffic on port 2003, or you can try another port.

it could be abused by people waiting in line while they are away from their computer and being idle in there. if people had to wait to join the popular servers, people would get in then never leave. as it is now people all have an equal chance of getting in.

meh, the regular spedometer is fine with just numbers. the newest version of camhack has a decent one, and it works with mta (camhack is still legal with MTA, right?

to elaborate on this, you want to keep tapping forward just enough so your head is at its lowest point. some people interpret this as keeping your head down so there is less wind resistance.

In all the time i have played MTA, I have only seen cheaters move like that. He was not jumping and moving, just sliding. he was not switching weapons or crouching. there is a glitch when the wrong weapon is chosen. this manifests itself usually as punching when the person is shooting, but i have not seen it so common and consistant.

GTA 1 and 2 had bikes cause it was basically a 2d game. GTA does not have a simple mod that will give you motorbike, but there are car mods to make it look like a bike, but still behaves like a car. The best way to ride a bike in Liberty City is to use the Liberty City mod for Vice city, found HERE

i actually bought that game, but the seriously stupid bots were a putoff. the level design is damn nice though
