  1. lol, thats what you get for leaning on the horn in gta3 the horn isnt synced, so you have no one to blame but yourself if that happens in gta3. In vc it usually happens if someone gets jacked/disconnected/crashes while holding the horn. Blowing up the offending vehicle is a good solution.

  4. In my opinion Portland is a nice solid pure dm experience, with no need to improve. Staunton however is too big and to awesome a map to leave how it is (unused). It seems the direction the MTA devs are going with it is to make it the "stunt-mode" of gta3. Great Idea! I suggest going further with this by adding racing back in there. I'm told it was removed due to bugginess, but I implore you to give it another go, Staunton is the perfect racing map, and I'm sure a feature like that will increase staunton's population. MTA Devs: have you considered doing a checkpoint gather instead of a race? Meaning that people have to collect the most checkpoints, instead of being in the lead. Just like the first yardies mission. maybe you'll run into less problems that way, who knows
  5. okay, here's something different: last night, erorr404 and I were doing van heist. He was a cop, and I was yakuza. He was driving. the marker was at the bottom of the dam for both of us for some reaso. when we got to the goal, I got a mission accomplished and the money, erorr got a message saying he was "captured". We could go through the trouble of doing the mission over and over, or a dev could explain the rules to us (please)
  6. they are fixing the client crash problem next release. they said that already. It is funny that it was connected to mtavc.com, which does occasionally go down. think of it as a little taste of the steam network
  7. you do seem to go a bit further distance when jumping from a high position if you tap space, but not much of a difference.
  8. i think the ransack awards are determined by how many crates you get. I'm not sure how much per crate though. you forgot to mention the spawn/ ammunation locations. The van heist destinations change depending on your career. (the cops take it to the garage near the cop station I get a lot of people remarking about the weird jumping as well. ( have no idea why they would change the jumping)

    I wouldn't expect that to appear in an mta release, just thinking out loud. If it's possible to make work in a mod, it would be an excellent feature in someones blue mod.

    ah the airport. man I hate the .col file for there. I cant count how many times i have foolishly trid to fly under the arch and ran smack into some solid oxygen one glitch that i have seen a lot is when another person get in a car while holding a gun. the gun sticks out the windsheild cause it doesnt autoswitch on my screen. These are just cosmetic problem, so they aren't important to solve.

    the one thing that is really lacking in on-foot movement is the ability to shoot while jumping. I haven't played SA much, can you do it there?
  12. wow, those last 2 posts had nothing to do with the question. jacob: as i said, ase is free for developers nick: you need to open up a port for ase to work, the port is whatever the game port is + 123. so if you use 2003, open up 2126
  13. I think game developers have to apply to the ase people for approval. I know it's free, unlike gamespy
  14. Its not hard to get good pics with any vid card, just set the resolution up. framerates dont matter with still images but if you need to know, its an ati 9600xt

  17. the original poster seems to be under the impression that the MTA devs are remaking the mta-vc.exe or the gta3.exe files. This is not the case. they are putting something on top of the GTA engine, not writing their own.
  18. heh, no matter how many times the devs say that there will not be a scheduled release date, people just don't have the willpower to not ask. It's an urge some people just can't seem to overcome.

  22. I was playing the other day in shoreside at the dam, when a couple of people who didn't know better accused me of cheating because i was climbing up and down the dam. I know that this seems like common knowledge to a lot of people, but for those who don't know, here ya go.
  23. well, most of the poses you see in the comic are just regular animations caught at the right moment and correct angle angle using camhack. i had about 5 gigs of bmp files on my drive when i made this comic, I leaned on the f12 button in mta all the time. I used about 1 pic in 20 attempts at each pose. the pic of them with their arms up is their upper half when jumping into a wall. I did however cheat in 1 shot where the guy in the pinstripe suit is gripping the heli while escaping the sailers. I cut off his arm and repositioned it. I felt dirty after doing it, cause that was the only one I manipulated like that, but it was the only way.
