Now i tried to suggest this before but got teased! I really reall think mta needs giant dancing bananas. Seriously fruit isnt represented in a positive way AT ALL also: id like fuly synchronised seagulls. But they musnt be able to eat the fruit ok p.s. when is mta 0.7 going to be released?

Tonight a select few from irc took part in the first semi-public gta3 test. This was a general stability / gameplay test. Overall it stood up well although a few issues came to light that we are now looking into resolving. All involved had a lot of fun so it certainly passed the most important test Many screenshots were taken so I shall change these daily for the next week or so. So keep checking here for new images.

Where on earth do you see that hinted in any shape or form?

It's dependant on the permissions you have with your ftp account. Most won't allow you to exec. Admin status or the host adding exec perms to your account will be required. If you have either of the above the command varies depending on the ftpd the host is running. Speak to the ftp host to ascertain the required information.

besides. hes not simply asking are the starting weapons balanced. hes asking if they unbalance gameplay as a whole. 'MTA:VC weapon selection unbalances the gameplay' Seems a lot of people equate 'balance' with 'equality'. Two different issues however. Personally I think the overall balance is pretty much spot on. This is proven to me every time i see every single career being used on servers all the time

xenex is pretty much spot on there except for one thing. 'our' fire doesnt have sounds. If you hear the cracklng of flames its because vc has decided its going to use its own anyway (still happens sometimes especially if the vehicle ended up on its roof). You do have more warning and longer to escape with our particle fire. First of all we trigger smoke to give you advanced warning of impending destruction. Then the flames proper begin aftera little more damage is done. Then you have slightly longer before the car explodes that you would have with 'normal' car fire. As for the exploding with no warning. This seems to be a stunmode only problem, and one that is hard to track down. The routine is the same. Perhaps its caused by the amount of extra object we use in that mode (the ramps) perhaps by something else.

Balance is not just your starting weapons though ransom. Is is your spawn location, the vehicles at spawn and nearby. The weapon pickups nearby. The special abilities you have etc. How close other careers spawn are to you. Don't simplify it to 'my gun is better than yours'

Haha, very true The cop shotty is a pretty powerful weapon itself. although it cannot kill in one shot like the robbers stubby it does a significant amount of damage, has a much faster rate of fire and a much better range. I know a few people who prefer it and will swap a stubby for it when given the chance

There i was driving along as normal. parked up to pick up the shotgun as i always do when there was this bloody IMMENSE roar behind me: I spotted him later near the sailors spawn. Be careful peeps. It's not just the occasional cheater you have to look out for it seems.

The gang isnt a spam gang its consists of spammers. a big difference. xerox insists it is a real gang. even gos so far as to appear in testing with a [blasta] tag. (i get embarassed for him when he does this). and on servers etc. Its simple. if its a proper gang thread dont spam in it. If spamming is more important to you then we move it to general and you do what you wish in it.

Not a massive amount no but i have dual cpu so can assign one of them to zmodeller or photoshop alone depending which is under the most load

Maintaining #mta and #mta-servers is part of my responsibilities. hence all 'the mirc stuff'. Great thing with windows is anything else i do go's over the top of 'the mirc stuff' and its as if the spammers arent there anymore Like work time.. (i use work in its loosest context of course) Theres usually a few more tools running but obviously im not going to publish pics that show the sensitive/secret ones

Broadband isn't available on my exchange yet. The UK, (or British Telecom to be more precise), has been very slow 'rolling it out' over the country. Especially in areas that arent very close to a large city. It gets here soon tho

Seriously johnny its not fair to either the other forum users or the moderators themselves. Users see a gang thread full of spam and either think its ok to spam in thiers or wonder why on earth it is an exception and they arent allowed to do the same. And we moderators have to tell people dont spam in the gang threads, then they say 'well how come blasta can?' what are we supposed to say to that? PLASTA was made as a joke, a total ripoff, reversal and pisstake of xeroxs original post in the PLASTA thread. Then people started to post genuinely funny stuff in there but as it wasnt really a gang thread it was moved to general. I'm quite happy to do the same with this thread.

Not if its your gang thread. How can we ask all other gangs not to spam in thiers yet allow a single gang to do so? You have blast in general forum for basic spam. According to xerox you are a proper gang in that you may take part in competitions etc so this is for your gang organisation and everything else gang related. not spam. If you want this to be a private spam thread then we'll move it to somewhere suitable.

Also odd that you appeared in irc not 2 minutes after being kicked. Had you been paying attention you would of course have seen 3 others get kicked for being idle for over 30 minutes.
