It is? I'm here cos I was promised beer and cookies. I'm still waiting.

Multiple select. Simple really, the ability to select more than one object and apply the changes to all of them, mostly movement. cut and paste Similar to above, very handy for rapid movement or cloning of large complicated objects and structures.

I think this is probably a regular pretending to be a very stupid and highly computer illiterate person. IJs denies it but I still have my suspicions Good job though, scanning your monitor rather than taking a screenshot was a class finishing touch

The difference being tab is supposed to jump fields. Update: It's still happening, now with the letter A. Any ideas why or ways to prevent/fix his?

And more and more people will make thier 'first map' and upload. Ideally it needs a manually intensive hands on approach with each map being tested and rated or vetoed by humans, can;t see there being enough people to devote thier tiem to doign that though so my initial suggestion seems a good compromise.

Nice one, someone should sticky this or put it somewhere prominent (providing it works of course)

Good to hear.

But thats the point, it can and will go wrong. There are some superb maps on there with no votes at all, and some simply terrible ones with 4 and 5 stars. This is the problem. I dont see a 1 second popop window being annoying. hell theres between a 5 and 30 second delay between each map anyway with nothing to do but look at stationary smoking vehicles, give the vote option then, and/or when a player dies. Make it a configurable option and those admin who don't wish to be involved can disable it.

Although the ideas behind center.mtavc.com appeared to be good it is obviously flawed. It is becoming full of maps that are poor to say the least (not all, there ARE some great ones there, unfortunately they apear to be the minority) many maps are uploaded every day. Some don't even have spawn points! The RSS feed means some servers are downloading every single map, getting ful of shite ones and that in turn reflects badly on mta itself when a new player enters and sees how awful the gameplay is. Voting is a great theory but unless the auther gets 3 friends to vote (obviously a lot have) which itself isn't exactly unbiased, then the map go's unvoted. Who would bother to look through the hundreds of maps his server has downloaded and return to the site to search and vote for each that he liked? Equally who would do so after playing it on a server somewhere? Not many that is for sure. So, what to do about this? I'd like to suggest a little RSS in the other direction. A little popup vote at the end of each map asking the player to vote between 1 and 5 (or asking if they wish to vote first) the player votes, the server tots them up and RSS's them back to the center. This would be quick, easy, accurate and people may even be able to script the removal from thier servers of maps recieving consitantly low vote scores. I'm presuming this could be a server option and could be put into a patch rather than having to involve the next client

Technically providing those files is illegal and therefore against the rules of this forum. I suggest you remove the link.

As actors move at considerably slower speeds than vehicles I'd imagine they will be much smoother.

mta0.5 used some pretty heavy encryption which did stress low end systems considerably. Hitting both framerate and bandwidth. I had a slower cpu, older videocard and dialup at the time and whilst 0.4 was perfectly acceptable, nay a joy to play, 0.5 was unplayable. (incidentally this made 0.5.5 testing pretty difficult as any more than 6 testers including myself meant I would have to drop out.)

Ouch. I'd imagine a LOT of decent older vids are gone for good now (publicly at least)

I don't have all those green and red circles, crosses and arrows on my screens. I think my computer is broken.

I'm not sure this is legal. I'm pretty sure it should and will be removed. If someone is playing then they should have media to reinstall from anyway so there is no actual need for the illegal transfer of copyrghted material..

You can still play, servers are still there they just wont list. Youll have to use alternative methods to find them for now is all.
-
yep, really. Presumably it's because most high pingers are using dialup therefore a lot of information isn't getting through. Thats certainly what was happening in the other direction when I was dialup, causing every other player to jerk and warp around.

Unless the heli gets shot down. That'd be a quick round

You aren't really answering my question. I'm not sure why you don't understand what I mean. Never mind. ASE is experiencing problems, thats why the servers remain unscanned at the moment.
-
I only ever see people with large pings jerking around (now that I have broadband myself) everyone else is amazingly smooth in my opinion. Anyway, this should improve for those that have slower connections or greater latency as final prediction math is integrated
-
It isn't any problem your end, it seems All Seeing Eye is experiencing problems yet again. As it powers the MTA browser everyone is suffering the same problems. Let's just hope ASE sort themselves out soon.
-
To clarify, I'm not asking if you are running the serer, merely if you installed it after the client?

I think a blanket approach like that would create more problems (or bad races at least) than not having respawn at all. Mainly because most maps won't be designed with it in mind, demolition derby and its ilk would never end for example, and creators of new maps wont know which to take into account - respawn or none. Probably better not to add it at all if a serverside patch is the only option.

jesus... I don't think I will have the patience to continue attempting to help this guy. I'll leave it to someone else. * scarpers
