Now I understand, thankyou. It seems like a good idea, however (in my opinion) quite a few of the maps that came with the release aren't particularly good, and the team themselves certainly don't have time to check even a percentage of the thousands that are uploaded to the center. A team of people dedicated to the task would be good, but this wasn't an idea that found approval with the center.mtavc.com team. Really the onyl way currently is to experience the maps yourself and choose those you like. Also keep an eye on the response those maps that are promoted in this forum get, if its positive then its a fair bet the map is worth a download.

How to use multiple IP's when setting up server on win2k3?
Si|ent replied to a topic in Race Server-side
A server patch is due relatively soon to address other measures. Perhaps IP options will be included. -

No it wouldn't, it could use the Blue core.

How to use multiple IP's when setting up server on win2k3?
Si|ent replied to a topic in Race Server-side
Specifying ip was missed out of this release (it was in several prior releases) The server requires the config file. -
Actually I think being able to do this, along with the ability to race them time-trial style ingame, would be awesome.

It would be treading on pretty tricky ground, the 2.0 patch was created specifically to prevent modding, so making a mod that can bypass that protection is farly clearly going against the original publishers intent. Probably safer not to risk it.

Erm. Sorry but I can't comprehend what you are trying to say

Which weapons will we be able to use in deathmatch?
Si|ent replied to wat0n's topic in General discussion
You could just edit the maps you put on there to remove any weapons you disapproved of -
It's an issue with the dual core. Team are aware and have been working on a solution.

I agree that dropdowns arent the best option, thats why i suggested: Retaining the feel of the original system but cutting ouy all the pointless unskippable delays that are a hangover from its console roots.

This should be in the General section as it isn't mta related.

there is a 'me' though.

lula3d, all the way

You won't always get an immidiate answer on IRC as the remaining team concentrate on actual coding rather than monitoring that side of things (as you would expect) but this IS a known issue and one that is being worked on as we speak. Thanks for pointing it out though, you weren't to know it was already known.

I think he just mis-typed, I'm sure he didnt actually MEAN 'is stopping'

Except the OJ's. We put them there as chill out fun in between testing the custom maps, I doubt they will feature in the final lineup of competition maps though as they are too problematic to score The rest are final play-tested and accepted maps (some, downloaded from center, have had health pickups removed and spawns fixed to qualify, otherwise they are entirely the original authors work) Big thanks to RED UK for his contributions and fixing a problematic map so quickly. Two more in the works from me - facing final tweaks (half the testers found it too hard to finish (some couldnt even get 100 meters!. I won't name any names tho jani)) Get your maps in quick if you want them included.

I've craved a two player co-operative mod for gta for some years now. When I discussed it with Smithers early on he initially decided his mod would take that route, for some reason they changed thier plans and became more 'mainstream'. It still amazes me that no team has tackled this unique challenge so far rather than making 'just another multiplayer mod'

Install the latest graphics and sound card drivers for your system. TIP: next time make your topic title a little more informing rather than simply 'problems', search too. Lots have had your problem and lots have solved it in the manner suggested above

I'm already here.

It wont noticably hit bandwidth usage at all, Unless it's done in an incredibly stupid way, and knowing the team as I do it certainly wouldn't be. So don't worry about lag. Don't you find that incredibly clunky, slow and irritating though? Not being able to skip the damn door opening , step in, door close / vice verca, and the zoom (more like drift) in to the arms to look at the watch? All un-skippable - reminds me of the original resident evil and its infuriatingly unskippable door opening animations. Even for a RPG mode Where going into a shop or wardrobe makes sense and 'fits' I'd still like to see it replaced with something far far faster, instant preferably. Like the tony hawks games for example.

I was thinking more along the lines of a dialogue i could enter map order into before a session. the tool would then load the maps in that order. As for announcements for specific maps (if nto tied into the former list) coudl it not be triggered by map name in the server message 'mapname.map loaded' ?

I have to admit I'd always pictured a cut down (Read FASTER) version of the Wardrobe, A little like the car/object browser in the editor, showing the current 'look' as different clothing options are scrolled through. Whilst your suggestion, or the instant wardrobe would be nice for team play and new players to select a look, personally I'd like it to use the CJ I have in single player (automatically, without having to re-find all the items), I'd imagine pretty much everyone has a different look. This doesn't take the many other ped models into account of course.

You are running windows XP or 2000, right?
