There's no need for your illegal method (where this board is concerned) CreateAMuck, there are perfectly legitimate methods such as the one I have just pointed out.

strike three No, you can downgrade/alter other versions to enable you to play using talidans patcher that is found here: http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=15151

If we are goign to take this thread back to its roots, then: Zones, Id like the ability to create a zone, be it an exclusion zone that disqualifies the racer should he enter it, or a zone that can be given other properties, a pickup for instance, nitro, car change, repair. I've expermented with making enormous coronas but it hasnt really worked too well Random checkpoints. Id also like the ability to remove the enforced order for checkpoints and simply require each racer to pass through each one a single time, leaving the player to decide on his route. Timed sections, setting a particular amount of time allowed to pass from one section to another, failure = disqualification. Anti-pickups, slow down, loss of grip, warp to previous checkpoint, puncture tyres, place exploding barrel in front of vehicle and others. Hazards to try and avoid basically. Also remote anti-pickups, similar but the person driving over them gets to choose which OTHER racer to inflict them on. Triggered object removal/movement. Be it via a timer or an object/checkpoint. Enablign barriers to be removed at appropriate times Object animation. The ability to set things spinning or sliding from one side to another. Disabled weapons What it says on the tin. Especially usefull for the RC Plane and the hydra to prevent combat in pure races/fun maps. And one addition now theres news of respawn respawn element that can be placed where the MAP MAKER wishes it to be rather than defaulting to the last checkpoint. This means it can be used in dm, chase and freeroam maps and should prevent players appearing int hemiddle of the racing line etc. note: object animation and anti-pickups arent anywhere near as useful or essential as the rest, I left them though as they would still be handy.

Download the missing dll. Obvious really (and covered on this forum already, please SEARCH before asking for help)

I don't think you can place any fires that are extinguishable. I've used buried flaming objects to place fires in strategic places in one or two of my maps.
-
F6 = zoom to selected element.
-
Because the problem only came to light after release.
-
You just use the patch thats featured in the thread at the top of this forum section, and mentioned in lots of other threads. SEARCH is a good thing, try it.
-
Like I said on irc, the only way is to funnel all players to a single checkpoint. just build a road at the end that narrows to it.
-
You can already stand in the back of most moving trucks and shoot out of them, just as you could in GTA3 and VC

S.A.R.L - San Andreas Racing league - Entrants, discussions
Si|ent replied to Si|ent's topic in Leagues and events
Its not congested starts so much. It's more times like a contestant is passing another at a much higher speed so the first barges him off the road, that's not acceptable. Blocking a passing maneuver in the first place is fine (unless you are about to be lapped) but not deliberately taking out a contestant who just bettered you. Another frequent issue is people who made a mistake and missed a checkpoint then stop in the middle of the road! or drive back up it the wrong way on the racing line. Really they should pull to the side and double back out of the way of people behind them who HAVN'T missed it. -

driver2: We are still in need of a website so your offer is most welcome. If you would like to contact xgj, our graphic designer, on these forums or on IRC and discuss it with him that would be great. Meet two just took place and was exhilerating fun, quite a bit of nasty tactics seemed to take place once more resulting in some flaring tempers, but overall a good atmosphere and great fun. We may have to look into ways of toning down the aggressive driving and lack of sportsmanship some contestants are showing. Wether the solution is spectating marshalls or just reinforcement of expected behaviour I don't know. Anyway, I shall grab a coffee or two and begin to compile the results. Watch this space. -
It would be nice if the custom pickup objects obeyed the line of sight and were hidden by other objects. ITs odd looking and rather disorienting sometimes to see them through cliffsides and buildings.
-
Yes of course, my mistake. I'm less familiar with that. I guess I have rally on the brain having struggled for some days with flooring for parts of my rally themed track
-
Unfortunately I think the track up that hill is badly overused, both in single player missions and the many mta maps that feature it. My heart sank when I saw these were yet more maps using it. Even if this wasn't the case those vehicles couldn't be much more unsuitable for such a narrow winding track. There is no possibility of overtaking whatsoever resulting in a long slow queue of bored bus drivers ascending the familiar trail. Sorry if this seems a little harsh but get out there with those same vehicles and find some better routes!
-
The easyest way, if you have the space, is to install VC then copy the entire directory to a new location and name it Vice City Mods or somesuch. This means you have two functional installs of Vice City, one for installing all your modifcations and one 'clean' one for MTA

Nice, im currently working on a Super Special Stage map (part of modern day rallies) For SARL competition, i'll take a test of yours with the proscpect of using it in the same competition. I'd sugest less usage of road blocking objects (in mapping less is almost always more), usually in a rally its mainly bunting to keep the spectators away from the track, for droute finding they rely on the co-drivers. The exceptions being when they travel near busy roads that they are unable to close, in which case for safety reasons they often cordon areas off. It might be cool to place the repair pickups somewhere that requires you to drive slowly and carefully to get them, this would resemble the decision a real driver faces, do i take time to repair, or do i continue and risk dropping out totally due to mechanical failure. Depends how far you want to take the rally idea I guess EDIT: Just playtested it solo and its a very nice and original route indeed. The start isn't really suitable for normal SARL but perhaps for DUO, either 4 player, 2 player or 1 player timetrial.

manhunt in MTA predates the rockstar game, It was a gamemode I came up with after it naturally happened one evening in the old official server which I then asked aeron to create an mtama script for (the first gamemode script for it I think, long time ago now). A script I am resurrecting for MTASA race at the moment. What you suggest should be very simple to create with the map editor, let alone the future SDK

SARL racemeet 2 confirmed for tomorrow. Check your email for details. -
MTA:SA features a map editor for creating your own 'worlds', basically pretty much every object from the game (including soem massive bits of scenery such as cliffs and fields) can be duplicated and placed wherever the creator sees fit, as well as the race checkpoint/finishline system. You have probably seen screenshots of some of the areas created with that. As for custom cars it may just be that you havn't come across them in single player as yet, there are masses of vehicles in SA to discover. EDIT: OK, so i just woke up after a lonnight at work and falling asleep on the sofa. Didn't see you were asking about mtavc, not SA. So erm, either ignore the above or go and buy SA so it is relevant!
-
Excellent, much more polished than a simple global vote timer. It would also be very handy if map order could be specified somewhere in the server, this saves scripts from having to force load a map the instant another one loads to get to the one required.
-
May as well lock it, the facts were posted 17 Dec 2003 15:39 in page one. There's another thread somewhere discussing the SA vehicles.
