  1. Have a search on thisforum and you can read all about it. Check mtavc.com news archive too.
  2. Odd. Nothing is supposed to go on top as far as I know. It certainly doesn't on my machine.
  3. I guess you are right, that is usually down to poor spawn layout when designing the release maps though. Something a newly designed one should avoid!
  4. How are you seeing how much cpu mta is using? dual monitors?
  5. Erm, thats exactly what I was saying, doesn't matter what you call it. You get money when people use it
  6. try disabling the AA and see if it improves. My old gforce card was crippled by AA in San andreas, im nto sure why as it was ok in other games.
  7. Did you ever create this Aeron? I asked if you could/would some time back but forgot all about it until wanting to reverse the checkpoints on a couple of races earlier tonight. To jog your memory it was a script/app to take the checkpoints in a particular race and reverse thier order entirely.
  8. Nice one Harry, perhaps this will stop the flood of posts askign the same thing. You named your mta server after a different modification? haha
  9. Why would you put your own IP in? As with every other (non mmo)multiplayer game out there you enter the ip of the particular server you wish to play in. Alternatively simply refresh the servers in the built-in browser and connect to one of those.
  10. You'd just walk into the next one...
  11. Nice image behind the text. Not really suitable for mta however as it shows characters from single player rather than anything multiplayer related. You also bastardised the MTA tagline, adding to it probably isn't appreciated. It is 'Stop playing with yourself, if you are going to use it don't change it! The font formatting isnt the best either

    Race-Script

Perhaps if you explain what you actually mean/want.
  13. you'd never see the other sides as you'd have gone thoruhg into another interior. Cant see the team doign this however as it involves editing the original models, lots of extra work. Perhaps something for the modders to do at a later date.
  14. Fading between images almost always looks terrible unless they are very carefully selected. Thats why we used sectioning in the jolt mta banner. (out of date now as it shows no SA action, but you get the idea)
  15. I have to say I prefer your first one that is on the previous page, much cleaner.
  16. I think he is suggesting the team actually edit the objects themselves to create spaces in the walls, therefore allowing them to be strung together DOOM-style.
  17. Is that an ascii dalek aeron? Oh and I get this error: 'space' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file. * runs away from the crazy coder
  18. no? That's just a picture of a (slightly bugged) dead player, nothing unusual in that. Images with tags that are readable just aren't suitable for something as public as a site banner. I suppose an exception might be if they show tags of the Team themselves, but even then the memberlist changes over time so it'd potentially be out of date fairly soon. Best just to avoid them altogether.

    I'm fucking pissed.

Posting (yet another) poll on here is pointless, either play elsewhere or contact the admins/owners of that server directly and explain / request amnesty from them.
  20. I'd strongly suggest using images that do not contain (readable) tags, it's unlikely your banner would be chosen if it contains them.
  21. I think he wants to buy cars that ARE used a lot though, so he can fine or charge a fee when others use it.
  22. Provisionally this saturday evening, I've found it impossible mid-week this week due to work commitments. Until someone else can step in and assist with running additional meets it's looking as if they will mainly be at weekends (unless late morning/early afternoon (GMT) meets appeal to contestants, I'd imagine many wouldn't be able to make those times though, let me know) Duo's I'd like to run your meet immidiately after the solo meet as it wasn't possible tohold it during the past week, both duo's and soloists watch your email for specific details. EDIT: g4mer I will test your map later this evening. EDIT2: Just tested it and I can see you must have put a lot of time into placing all those scenery elements together, they fit well and seem to blend nicely both physically and ergonomically (the first half anyway, later on a lot of gaps and visible 'blue space' can be seen and the scenery is a real mismash of styles). The problem is the route itself is pretty easy. You also use far too many health pickups, many in illogical positions, 10 meters from the start for example. In the second half theres many areas where you can get behind a one sided texture and are then unable to pass through the then invisible wall. (there is also an invisible wall near the first checkpoint, not sure how that one got there) and there are at least two locations where a missed checkpoint (due to bad luck rather than misjudgement) means its virtually impossible to backtrack and pass through it. Overall a great first half with a couple of small issues but a rushed feeling to the second half.
  23. That's great news! Thanks for the response eAi, it is much appreciated. Zones: Perhaps the designer could drag a square to place the zone, in much the same way as drawing a box in an art application. Being able to resize it would be superb too. As for displaying it I presume you are stuck pretty much with things that are already in SA, perhaps simply a series of small glows (smaller, differently coloured versions of the mouse pointer) to create dotted lines around the borders? I just see it as giving the map maker a little more control, enabling them to choose where the player will reappear. They may choose to place them in key areas of the map in free roam for example so that a dying player will reapper fairly close to where the action took them, rather than back where they began. In more traditional races perhaps the designer will choose to place respawn areas at regular intervals at the start of a race, but further and further apart as the race nears the end, creating a handicap system. Perhaps a compromise would be being able to set a checkpoint as a NON-respawn? This way by default they would allow a player to respawn, but a handicap system could be introduced? Not as flexible and unlimited as a respawn object but it would still give more options. I'm delighted to hear that so many details are being included already
  24. You pobably changed your game version to get compatible with mta. If savegames are from a different version they wont load. Just revert and it should be fine.
