Does that cover all of SA, out of curiosity?

VB is crap, but I might be able to look at it IF you upload it. I'm not interested enough to track it down myself.

God... i was actually beginning to believe MTA forum users weren't arseholes compared to SA-MP forum members... maybe im wrong. Anyway, the map is rather big and if someone had already done it, why should i go to the trouble to do it again? This is not about being an arsehole, this is about you coming in here with a vastly unrealistic demand. Making a vehicle map is time consuming and boring. Maybe, if you stopped whining about how bad people are, you could scrounge up a few people, assign everybody an area, and make a map? You can be pretty sure nobody is going to want to place vehicles for hours on end any more than you do. Edit: or.. actually thinking about it, I'm sure converting the SA-MP vehicle spawn list to a useful format in MTA would be doable, or even relatively easy. Can you get your hands on it somehow and upload it here? God knows they've done the same to us enough.. And, Satan.. isn't that like 745 vehicles in total? Doesn't sound like much over the entire map?

Start the resource with start in the console (server or in-game if you're logged in as admin), read the server manual and wiki. If you want it to automatically start, add another resource line to mtaserver.conf (you should be able to figure that one out by looking at the ones already there) and... that's it, I guess. And yes, this is the right subforum.

But of course, you shouldn't be trying to use others script at all, unless they released it...

Why have I got the feeling I've seen this before.. oh, that's right.. it was two weeks ago and the topic is directly below this one.

Yes. Good thing sarcasm in text form is always readily picked up. *deadpan*
-
I'm sorry, sir, but this is nothing to be afraid of... *whistling, strolling idly away*
-
And here's another issue: if people don't post their entire script, they have to pick out the relevant parts. Often, people suck incredibly at doing just that, so we end up with something unhelpful.

How can I restrict players to only be in a certain spot?
robhol replied to KalanYamato's topic in Support
The choice is pretty much yours. Personally, I would use colshapes (rectangle, circle, polygon, whichever suits you, and more importantly, the map...) and setElementVelocity on the players when they leave it (event). Remember that setElementVelocity is a little bugged when using it on peds/players. To successfully set a player velocity, set their position first, a small increase in Z position, then set their velocity immediately after, using setTimer. There is already a (crappy) maplimits resource yet, but all that does is flash a warning and then KILL people... -
If you've forwarded ports and don't have a firewall enabled, you should be OK. Close the server. Open mtaserver.conf, set the contents of the tag to 1. Restart the server and LEAVE IT ON for quite some time. At least several hours.

If your impatience here is any indication, calm the hell down and give Delux/whoever more time to respond.

Yeah. MTA has been known to contain those.. *glances towards Australia* *Cough*

I'll check it out, thanks a lot.

You could've bought it 40 milliseconds ago - that doesn't really matter. Anyway, make sure you have all your drivers (especially graphics) and have updated DirectX. Remember DX version 9.0c

I'm still a complete newb in the field of replacing models, so I was just wondering: how much hassle is involved in a simple billboard texture change? What software do I need (I assume you can't just spoonfeed the GTA engine a nice picture file and be done with it..) and how exactly should I go about doing it? I'm really completely blank here. Don't skip any steps. Thanks in advance..

No you won't.

To be honest, the XML files impress me a lot more than the program. Did you make those yourself or did you rip them off of somewhere? The program itself is... well, very little more than a technical demo of a component you strictly speaking didn't write, at this point. It's an EXTREMELY early draft, but not a bad beginning. Keep it up. What did you code this in? (This looks .NET. I can tell from some of the pixels and having seen quite a few .NET applications in my time.. ) Edit: oh.. I thought there would be description and prototype/argument tooltips here...

I'm thinking maybe your graphics card has cancer... I'm afraid it might be terminal.
