    Modding

Since it runs "on top of" normal SA, yes you can. However, MTA also offers some modding capabilities that's "ordered" by the server, and lately most servers block connections from games with "unauthorized" mods to ensure fair gameplay. I think this is possible to disable in the server config, though.
  2. If you manage to make an MTA server take as much as 1GB, I will personally award you a medal... My local testing server (with a bunch of resources) takes about 30-40MB at the moment. Admittedly there are very few "heavy" resources in here (custom models, car mods, maps and so on will use much more space than normal script resources with one or two data files) and the DB is virtually non-existent. However, even only 1GB is likely to take you a looong looong way even with a considerable amount of players and database storage. I think you're pretty much in the clear.

    Player Names

Is the scoreboard running? (And what's with the thread necromancy?)
  4. Yes, but if you can do that without being administrator, something's pretty wrong somewhere.
  5. Uh.. if you're not administrator, how are you supposed to be able to run as administrator? If something went so wrong in your install that you actually LOST admin privileges, I'd just recommend you to reinstall the OS.
  6. I don't know what THE best song in the world is, but at least to me, this one comes close.

    coordinates

Well, no, but what will you do with them once you have them? You simply can't interact with an object that's part of the standard SA world.
  8. The guide is now down. The topic can be unstuck or locked or whatever.

    SAES:RPG

Even if you remove the cache, it'll still just be downloaded without any major problems the next time you connect to a server, so there's no major point in the backup imho.
  10. And that aside, it would also be useful if there comes a better anticheat resource and we want to leave it up to that. MTA's hard-coded one doesn't really have much of an impressive history so far.
  11. Quit pretending I change my posts (l2recognize "Last edited by.." lines) when you just screwed up because you can't read! Anyway, I thought it was already pretty clearly stated that there wouldn't be any MTA:IV?

    setWaterColor

Any chance you could be any less specific? The excess of detail smothers me.
  13. Reason: nobody had the idea and/or cared enough to do it yet. Feel free - more diversity in servers and available gamemodes to play is always a good thing.

    Epoch time

This? Or did I misunderstand something?

    Few Questions

Then at the moment no, but I guess that might change at some time in the future. The mantis page for this feature is here. http://bugs.mtasa.com/view.php?id=1231 As you can probably see, it's currently scheduled for 1.1, but this can change in the blink of an eye.

    Few Questions

    1. Doubt it 2. Well.. yes. Script files, database, config, etc., it's all just a matter of sending it, I guess. 3. I don't see the point, although I guess it would be theoretically possible. You'd probably be better off with Fraps or another screen recording program, though. 4. What? SA-MP doesn't have new skins as far as I know? In MTA, you can replace textures like it's been done in the zombie gamemode (Slothman's) 5. Yes. If you can script that behavior.
  17. Kye has nothing to do with IV:MP. Way to play the fanboy card >< I didn't say so. Read much?
  18. Your opinion on that... Either play on servers that allow modifying data files or cling to an old version while you still can. OR just play like you're supposed to.
  19. I'd say the chances of that are somewhat diminished. If nothing else, at least Kye is already making money from nothing, and so, will probably not bother being around to muddy the waters for these two mods.
  20. And, uh.. the config file tells you SPECIFICALLY to leave the IP field blank unless you know what you're doing - which you don't. If you don't pay attention while trying to configure something, you're likely to make mistakes.
  21. There's also no need to break out into flame wars over another mod for another game, I should think. Can't we stay on-topic?
  22. No, sorry. My bad. This isn't bull at all...
