Anyone who'd want to ruin this is a sad person anyways, imo. It's so pointless, it's like kicking down a door just for the hell of it.
-
Wtf.. you don't get this, do you.. The chat icon is a script run by the server. Whining about it here won't help, and there's nothing to "fix". Ask your server admin to make it optional or something, there's nothing we can do.

Good. Git was a freaking mess. Push pull request pull more, push more. Wait.. what? In SVN the whole thing is a great deal easier. Commit changes. Done. All in all, it's a lot less of a pain in the ass.

Well, that topic is seven (I repeat, 7!!) years old..

Bumbling noobs who won't try to lift a finger for a microsecond to get what they want isn't exactly what we wanted either, champ, so cry me a river...

Suggestion: animation/size in avatars/sigs
robhol replied to robhol's topic in Site/Forum/Discord/Mantis/Wiki related
I'm not saying "No signatures", (durrrrr), I'm saying there's no need to commit eye rape using signatures or avatars. Regardless of whether you can disable it or not. -
Do you expect to get tons and tons of help when you can't: 1) Write a proper question 2) Follow a simple request with no sacrifice on your part (INDENT YOUR CODE. USE [LUA] TAGS.) 3) Prove that you've tried for two milliseconds to make something yourself?

Suggestion: animation/size in avatars/sigs

I could probably have envisioned this getting pissed on (if nothing else then because I'm the one who suggested it) but I'd still encourage you to consider it. I don't get what you mean by detection mechanisms being necessary for a rule. I just think that, while signatures can be a nice place to put certain information, there's no point in having something x-hundred pixels tall in there, or a loooooooooong animation of 2MB that takes ages to load on a decent connection (the fact that people might not even HAVE a decent connection aside) and then induces seizures. I also don't see how it would be all that difficult for a moderator to use some common sense in the "sig situation." Not mentioning any names here, but right now I could point to a signature approaching three hundred pixels in height. A little while back, there was a user with long, flashy (literally and otherwise) GIFs in both avatar AND signature. -
I'd just like to drop a quick suggestion here. Some users are using animations in sigs and avatars. They're large, slow and somewhat annoying and also distract attention from what's actually being discussed. There are also users with gi-freaking-gantic pictures in their signature. Would it be possible to make a rule that says you're not allowed to have huge and/or flashing things in avatars and signatures? I'm all for the use of avatars and signatures in themselves. I just think they shouldn't be hugely annoying, induce seizures or double the scrolling length of a page. Any opinions?

Personally, I want you to stop attention whoring and spouting unuseful bull. Maybe that's just me, though.

kevin, can you please try to listen to people and use properly indented code in the proper format? Write [lua], it's not that freaking hard. Also, this is a kinda dumb mistake, one you wouldn't make if you had the basics of Lua down. Seriously. Read a little.

When events are being fired intra-resource across server-client, you almost have to declare it on the receiving side... Unless I've missed something major and you can actually add events for "the other side", but that makes little sense.
-
I don't know how many times I've said this to you, but please! TRY to get a BASIC GRIP about your stuff before you try to INSTRUCT others! This is the wrong way to "solve" the problem. What you actually do, is find the Admin group, and add this resource in it. There's a reason resources aren't allowed to kick/ban players without being cleared to do so in the ACL.
-
He actually has explained it. I'm assuming the reason he's unwilling to release this all-out or post a full explanation here is the fact that that would render the script unusable a lot faster because the cheat authors would just jump in and fix it. Also, unless you have a server with decent amounts of players on it (I don't, either, at the moment) you simply don't need it.

Graphics drivers? DirectX? Tried upgrading/reinstalling?

Just to nitpick a little; a meter isn't really accurate. I once got the idea of measuring an in-game building and comparing the measurements with those of the building's real-life equivalent (as tons of SA is based on real-life places) but the thing is that R* might not have made it "to scale", and then the whole idea goes out the window. As I understand it, though, the "1m rule" is based on the assumption that CJ is about 2 units, and that he'd be 2m in real life. That's a lot of guesswork and approximation. On one hand it's probably possible to make closer guesses than that, on the other hand it might not be worth it anyway, since it can be a bit inconsistent in the game itself.

So what you're saying is you're trying to run a mod without the game installed... Buy the game or "buy" it. In the latter case we can't help you find it, so don't even ask.

Just making a quick note. Wiki. Not Wikipedia. Wikipedia is a wiki in the form of an encyclopedia. A wiki is not called "a wikipedia" unless it actually is Wikipedia..

It's not like you have to download those libraries more than once, (or at all if you're not running a 9 year old OS) and on like 50 computers I've seen/used/installed single-handedly, .NET has still to fuck up once.

You really need to describe your problems better. Anyway, setting player name is a ridiculously awkward way of doing this. Set name tag color or something instead, and override the chat (it's easy) using onPlayerChat to display the player's name in the same color as his nick tag.
-
You can't. Idiots were abusing persistent name changes, and so it was removed. Server-scripted nick changes only last until the player quits that server.
-
Still more effective though. IP: Press button. Wait. Hardware: Turn off computer. Get tools for opening computer. Take out component. Insert new component. Screw stuff back together. Turn on computer. Put away tools.

okay, you beat everything with this mine: Piotr Do you know what it means, then? (or where it's from?) Next random paste. FREQOUT Speaker, 3000, 50 PAUSE 50 PBasic fails.
