james_moorehead Posted April 5, 2003 Posted April 5, 2003 Actually its legal to edit the .exe file as discovered BUT You cannot Distribute the exe file itself you have to release a prog that will edit it for you. This has been discussed on GTAForums.

james_moorehead Posted April 6, 2003 Posted April 6, 2003 I think actually theres been a bit of confusion over the whole .exe editing. Heres what the manual says you may not distribute a modification that contains an executable file that has been changed or modified in anyway That means you cannot Release the gta3.exe file at all. But you can tell people HOW to edit it. I don't think he was on about modding the game I think he was on about the actual .exe file itself
