by any chance, are you using a router?

hmm... have you tried running mta.exe on it's own, or GTA3 on it's own (w/o the launcher)?

In your start menu, it should be under a new folder... 'MTA'

make sure that you installed MTA into your GTA3 folder, and that launcher.exe is in your gta3 folder. make sure that mta.exe (in your GTA3 folder) is really named mta.exe make sure that gta3.exe (in your GTA3 folder) is really named gta3.exe one of those should be your problem (most likely the last one)

does it crash when you start launcher.exe, or when you click on one of the buttons in the launcher?

well, the guns DO work... barely. try both of you standing still, and then shoot at him (since there's so much lag) I've never heard of *that* much lag, but there is still a lot of it... got something to do with some timing thing in the netcode. I believe that the lag is being worked on, and has been drastically reduced already... 0.35 should have fixed up netcode

hmm... make sure that your gta3.exe is really named gta3.exe if it's something else, like gtathree.exe, then the launcher will give you errors. you can also just open up gta3.exe and mta.exe on your own, and skip using the launcher (well, you have to use the launcher the first time, so that all the MTA files are placed in the right spots, but after that you can start stuff manually)

k... turns out that Rainerx was using 0.2 by mistake hopefully things are working better now
