  1. Start the command line (eg. by using Windows+R key combination, then type cmd and run it), then drag and drop MTA Server.exe on it. Run it and you should be able to see the error message then.

    How to use without DVD

Steam version of GTA:SA doesn't require a cd/dvd to run, and MTA works fine with it. So you can use that Steam version with MTA and you're set. Make sure to use a Windows OS for GTA/MTA though.
  3. BTW, please PM me if you've made an important contribution to the 1.4.1 release (eg. submitted a patch or a major bug report that was fixed) but weren't listed and I will add you to the contributors list.
  4. Quite impatient, aren't you? Just posted it.
  5. Hi there! About half a year has passed since our last release, so we think it is about the time we present you the next instalment of MTA:SA - 1.4.1. This version is backwards-compatible with 1.4-based clients and server. Even so, we would like to encourage both the 1.4 players and server owners to upgrade to the latest version to benefit from the changes we made in this release since it contains quite a few. Credits for this release Code contributors: Cazomino05, ccw, jusonex96, qaisjp, sbx320 Patches and other contributions: AlexTMjugador, Arrantuna, CookiePLMonster, DirtY_iCE, Disinterpreter, Grafu, jhxp, mickdermack, NeXTreme List of changes for 1.4.1 Here are some of the changes made to MTA:SA since the original 1.4 release from July, 2014. Added Japanese translation and updated other translations OOP additions, changes and fixes (courtesy of qaisjp) Added luautf8 library - adds support for unicode gsub, gmatch, find, match and reverse (sbx320) Improved compatibility with the Steam version (Cazomino05 and ccw) Fixed radar map and blips not being shown in MTA if disabled in GTA settings (default is 'show all') (Jusonex96) Fixed freefall bomb position desync for clients with different FPS when the projectile has a high velocity + Adjusted satchel positioning (Cazomino05) Fixed train position not being set properly if target position is not in stream radius (Jusonex96) Fixed resource settings node not being deleted upon resource stop (sbx320) Patched several memory leaks (Jusonex96, sbx320 and others) Added hash function for sha1 etc (ccw) Fixed clientscript.log not getting trimmed when over 2GB (ccw) Added VS2013 runtime installer to installer (ccw) Added signed server exe (ccw) Added option to skip version checks for non official server builds (ccw) You can find more detailed lists of changes on these pages: MTA's Mantis Google Code - from r6752 to r7021 (excluding branches such as CEF and CoreVoice), also from r7021 and onwards marked as [1.4.1] There were a bunch of changes for resources too, mainly for admin, deathmatch and map editor resources. You can find the list of changes here: Google Code - r1010 and onwards Download MTA:SA 1.4.1 You can download the new release here: http://www.mtasa.com. If you are looking for the Linux server, you can download it from here: http://linux.multitheftauto.com. Note: Windows and Linux servers are available in both 32 bit and 64 bit flavours (64 bit one is still experimental though). We hope you enjoy our new release. -- MTA Team On a side note, did you know that our Steam Group has almost 10.000 members?
  6. Please download and run MTADiag and follow the instructions. If MTADiag doesn't launch, please install Visual C++ 2012 runtimes (download and install vcredist_x86.exe) and try again. Press 'n' when asked. Post any Pastebin URL MTADiag gives you.
  7. 1. Zrób kopię danych, które ewentualnie chcesz zachować (screenshoty, mapy itd.), a następnie odinstaluj klienta MTA:SA. 2. Odinstaluj GTASA. 3. Można go ściągnąć z naszej strony internetowej: http://www.mtasa.com 7. Upewnij się, że podczas gry nie są uruchomione żadne programy typu debugger. Ponadto, nie instaluj żadnych modyfikacji do gry (ani do klienta MTA:SA, poza aktualizacjami dostarczanymi przez samą aplikację). Jeśli jednak chcesz mody do samej gry GTASA wyłącznie w trybie single player, skopiuj folder z grą GTASA i instaluj mody w skopiowanym folderze.
  8. The end of the year is near, so it is time for a little progress update for you guys. We are working hard towards our next release, but for now, let's recap the most important things that happened this year: We had released a point update for the MTA:SA 1.3 series - 1.3.5 in February, which fixed several issues present in the mod. Few months later, after a long development time we had finally released the MTA:SA 1.4 at the end of July. This release, aside from bug fixes, brought you some fantastic and long-time requested features such as Lua OOP (Object-Oriented Programming), user interface translations (known as l10n or localization) or the updated anticheat system. Along with the 1.4 release, we had set bounties for finding security flaws in our mod and cheats that can bypass our anticheat system. No software is perfect, and our mod is definitely not an exception, so we hoped that this would encourage third parties to help us make the mod more secure. Speaking of security as well, the MTA:SA 1.4 release had enforced the use of our Lua online compiler for compiled scripts. The online compiler, while being highly controversial (and rightfully so), seemed like an only viable solution to a security problem that was much bigger than convenience at the time or the compatibility with already compiled scripts. It was all explained later in Talidan's lengthy post. The transition went fairly smooth - those who were not using compiled scripts were not affected at all, and those who were just recompiled their scripts using the Lua online compiler or left the mod altogether. The problem was with a group of server owners who only had their compiled scripts without access to the original source files. This might have caused them other problems in the future though, due to not being able to edit the precompiled script eg. to add new features or comply with the syntax changes. More recently, Steam users have most likely noticed that their GTA:SA installs were updated a few times in November and December. This caused some game crashes, but we have dealt with it quickly so our mod retained compatibility with the Steam version. We also set new records for the number of concurrent MTA players. On 8th of November, we had nearly 22.700 players ingame at the same time, with nearly 130.000 unique players who joined any server that day. In general, we had over half a million of unique players each month (excluding February with ~490.000, but peaking on August with over 560.000 players), which was a noticeable improvement over a last year, when we never reached half a million of players in any of the months. A lot of effort was put into new features, which you may see in the future MTA versions, such as ingame web browser (courtesy of jusonex96), custom sound and voice improvements (Cazomino05) and OOP tweaks (qaisjp). We have also worked on regular bugfixes and performance optimizations (sbx320, ccw, jusonex96 and others) which are already present in most recent MTA:SA 1.4 builds or will be included in the next major release, which looks to be promising indeed. Lastly, we would like to thank you for your continued support. The mod keeps growing every day, and that is all because of you, our fans. Let's hope that we can make the next year even better for MTA. See you in 2015! --MTA Team!
  9. Yes, it does support the Steam version. The MTA:SA installer will automatically adjust your Steam's GTA:SA installation so that MTA will work with it just fine, and at the same time, you will be able to play the single player mode as you normally would. Just make sure to use the latest installer (available on http://www.mtasa.com). I have the Steam version myself and the mod works fine on it.
  10. The detailed information on how to report issues can be found in the second announcement on this page: http://bugs.mtasa.com/main_page.php
  11. Hello, we are happy to announce that we have fixed crashes related with the recent Steam GTA:SA update. You can update your MTA:SA 1.4 client by downloading and running the new MTA:SA installer from our homepage: http://www.mtasa.com (just press the big download button at the top of the page, then run the downloaded file) --MTA Team
  12. https://forum.multitheftauto.com/viewtopic.php?f=106&t=58533 See point 5. Running the server. The general idea is the same, even if you use Ubuntu (which is Debian-derived anyway) - just install the screen package and use it like I have explained in my tutorial. Also, wrong section.
  13. Hello everyone! A while ago, Steam has deployed a mandatory update for GTA:SA owners. This update removes a bunch of songs from radio stations available ingame (due to licensing issues), and provides better compatibility with Xbox controllers (plus some other changes, as explained in this big topic on Steam Community: http://steamcommunity.com/app/12120/dis ... 984412375/ ). Unfortunately, at the same time, this update is also causing some crashes in MTA:SA, related with radio stations. We are currently investigating these issues and hope to release a quick fix for MTA:SA to resolve the problem as soon as possible. We will let you guys know once we fix the problem. Until that happens though, we are sorry for any inconvenience. Note: This only affects players who are using the Steam version of the game. MTA players who use GTA:SA retail copies or any non-Steam digital version are not affected.
  14. Please keep in mind that this is an Urdu board, so we will only consider feedback from users who speak Urdu (or are from Pakistan). Feedback or votes coming from non-Urdu speaking (or in obvious cases - non-Pakistani) users will be removed. Also, a decision whether we pick a moderator for this board or not remains at our sole discretion.
  15. All you need to do is to go to the page you wish to create, then edit and save it. Once done, you need to add the translation links to the original page. They can be found at the end of the page's source . Here is an example... Say I would want to translate this page to Polish: https://wiki.multitheftauto.com/wiki/Animations I would go to this page: https://wiki.multitheftauto.com/wiki/PL/Animacje then edit it and add my translation of the original article, then save it. After that, I would go to the original page and change [[de:Animationen]] [[zh-cn:动画]] to [[de:Animationen]] [[pl:Animacje]] [[zh-cn:动画]] and there, it's done. It's a good idea to update the links for pages in other languages for that article too.

    CPU for $137 USD

Fourth and fifth gen (and most likely any future ones too) are incompatible with this PC because they use a different type of CPU socket. You can check that on wiki: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_In ... 2832_nm.29 The list is for i3 processors, but it's the same deal with celeron/pentium and i5/i7 as they are based on the same architecture. You will notice that Sandy Bridge and Ivy Bridge CPUs use the same socket, while Haswell (4th gen) uses a different one.

    CPU for $137 USD

By a 'whole PC' I meant a completely working PC case with all the components inside, rather than just a CPU (processor). Not necessary including a monitor or mouse/keyboard. Ivy Bridge is a name of the third gen Intel Core processor microarchitecture. The Intel Pentium processor you'd have is based on a Intel Core second generation - Sandy Bridge. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandy_Bridge http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ivy_Bridge ... chitecture) And no, if you look for an aftermarket CPU (processor) upgrade, it might be not that expensive, yet it would still perform nicely. After all, there are newer processors nowadays (currently 4th gen, with a 5th gen just around the corner; both are unfortunately incompatible with that PC), so you might be able to get the older processors cheap.

    CPU for $137 USD

I guess you meant the whole PC, not just CPU. Does that price include the operating system as well? Looks okay for that price. Although it has a dated CPU, it can be upgraded later to an old today, but still quite good Ivy Bridge/3rd gen i5 or i7 cpu. http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... id=3970#sp If you want to use it for gaming though, you will definitely want to buy a discrete graphics card and upgrade your RAM memory. Also I would check the PSU (Power Supply Unit) model you will be getting - you might have to replace it if it's some cheap OEM brand and want to replace your CPU or buy a graphics card in the future.
  19. We do not have enough manpower for development. And that is even without taking some necessary extra traits in account, such as proper knowledge of mobile OS and software development aimed towards them, and knowledge of inner workings of mobile GTA versions. We currently have neither of which, yet they would be a must for such a project.
  20. The Geforce GT610 is a really low-end card. You might not be able to play resource intensive games on it (as in, any modern game released in the last 5 years or so), as it will give you terrible performance. With that kind of budget, you might be better off looking for an aftermarket build or parts if you're aiming for performance.
