  1. there are options to do that stuff in your router's config stuff if you are running a linksys its a web interface usually http://192.168.1.1 but... like i said, its best ot chekc your router manufacturer's site for that Kent

  4. i have issues connecting because im on a school network whiich blocks outbound UDP packets a lot of universities have started doing this because they are trying to block kazaa.. that could be your problem too ? Kent

  6. i believe this bug is associated w/ people running 1.1 no CD patch.. i had this problem one chance I had to test.... again we aren't officially supporting cracked/hacked versions of VC. sorry for the inconvenience Kent
  7. they alll have diff. advantages police get Bullet proof vest but crappy guns racers get nothing special, but the PCJs sailors have regen. health Mexican has nice weapons etc Kent
  8. hmm the only thing i can think of is the DX Overlay.. but i haven't heard of this w/ many other people... maybe update our drivers, or make sure you are running hte newest DX (turning no the frame limitor may help too) Kent
  9. hehe i have the same problem and thats why i can't currently code for MTA... are you on a large network?? because in my case the sysadmin is throttling outgoing UDP to stop the spread of virii, and stop the usage of kazaa.. (RIAA stuff). Im talking ot my sysadmin right now about getting more access so i can work harder on devel stuff.. Kent
  10. thats not the only issue... theres also issues w/ the engine itself... we can only display so many actors at once... (other players appear similar to peds to you).... so adding any NPCs to the game, would not only consume more bandwith, it could also lower tha max # of players supported... The AI is already in the game... but to sync that stuff w/ everybody else would not only push bandwith limits, but also the limits of the engine.... remember, VC was designed as a single player game... it was not designed to be able to display hundreds of peds at a time....   11. i don't think MTA is going ot be headlining hte conversion from 56k users to broadband anytime soon... you can also private message htem through the forums, they check these regularly.... (the names i mentioned earlier (IJSVogel, and Blokker_1999 are their respective names) Kent
  12. we are developing this mod for many many other players... our prime concern is getting this to work for the guys w/ the 56k lines... not extra features for the few who have a T3 Kent

  14. you must understand that we dont' have the finesse control over the game that one does when they are developing agame... we can't have great bandwith improvements because we can't control the cars/peds etc. very directly...

  16. we aren't doing it because it takes too much time that we could be focusing on gamemodes... not to mention the added bandwith that npc's create. thats coupled w/ the fact that we dont' ahve direct Acess to code... so just "putting cops in" is not nearly as easy as if we had some source code to work with.... just be patient, when gamemodes are implemented you wont care about peds and cops
  17. 0.2 will be out soon enough, just wait a little longer as far as patching goes, if we find something that makes the mod horribly unplayable, and that can't wait for 0.3, we may patch... (if anything arises like the exit game while in vehicle crash).. Kent
  18. most of this has been discussed, there will never be peds, cops, etc also this game isn't an MMO, so we arne't putting our work into those areas..

  20. port forwarding is only needed for hosting a server, the client doesn't use those ports, they are arbitrarily chosen by the client. Kent

  23. been suggested... can't do it unless you want the game to only support 6 players.. even then there are bandwith issues so that we will never support Kent
  24. probably not any time soon... Its nearly impossible to make this perform as well as a game that we had access to the source code. We have to fake a lot of things to get the job done, and as a result can't control the world as directly as we'd like. Kent
