we are already working on that Kent

we wont say that it doesn't work with 98SE because we have heard many successful cases of people using the mod... Like cray mentioned earlier, its hard to chock up errors to just the operating system, because there are often workarounds... The reason why we didn't forsee this being an issue.. Most of the code for MTA (that isn't directly inside of GTAVC) deals with memory reading and writing... these are the same function calls on both operating systems.. readprocessmemory and writeprocessmemory are very basic kernel routines that though may be different in how they are handled by the operating system, are equivalent in their usage via API calls... When the team does find a bug, it often takes a long time to trace through the code and see where the error is.. its even harder on network based / multi application (client and server) software... because of this it takes a LONG time to find the bugs.. which is why we release betas... so people like you can find the errors.. (our team is not a large enough basis to determine how flawed/flawless our design is.) please bear that in mind when you make criticisms... this is our first release, and we need to find the bugs, and thanks for telling us, but when people get mad about it tehy miss the whole reason that this software is called BETA.. peds will not be synced its too difficult to handle with the limits of GTA itself... not just for netcode reasons Kent

problem solved

probably a little of both..... as good as we can make the netcode there are still some HUGE limitations of trying to make a single player game MP... as a result things just may not seem quite right at times...... but we are working on dealing with cheaters and stuff for future versions.... keep in mind its our very first release for MTAVC. by the sound of that error, it sounds like you have bigger issues with your computer... Kent

we have some ideas for future versions as far as identifying players, in future versions, all i can say now is we too are thinking about all the features we can put into the mod... unfortunately Serverlisting isn't at the tip top of the list, but it is a high priority.... but we are still evaluating all options as far as server listing goes. kent

#2 we are working on, and will most likely be in the next version, we still have some quirks to work out before we can include that #1 ASE has a buddy list feature... Kent
-
the website has places that people can report bugs to us. makes things nice that way.. a MOTD option may be implemented in teh future but right now we are focusing on the core of the mod. The username isn't a pressing issue for us either at the moment but we may take care of that in teh future. There already is admin functionality.. start-programs-MTA--"remote server admin" here you can connect to a server and kick / ban people and other control features. Hope you en joy the mod so far Kent

the ASE port runs on whatever port your game runs on + 123 so by default a 2003 game port would be 2126 for ASE
-
this version is designed to get the basics down... in the future we may support multi sessions under 1 ip.. but for now we just need to get the core basics done... remember this is v 0.1 but you CAN do this.. if you host a server both of you can play on that and external players can connect assuming you forward the necessary ports (game port is 2003 by default, ASE runs on that port+123 (so 2126 by default) Kent

animations didn't make this version because we were more concerned about gameplay, in the future versions we will try to get more and more features implemented, like animations, and shooting out of the car, etc hope you enjoy what we have done so far.. Kent
-
no its too much banwith/ memory writing to code this to work.. Kent
-
this reminds me of when sony spent millions of dollars on making an anti ripping scheme for music cd's... worked by putting garbage data on the outside tracks of the cd, to crash the ripping software.. the workaround... take a permanent marker and trace the outer rim of the cd. Kent

did i read that correctly that it will give the government the ability to delete files? This doesn't sound secure at all lol... look what rpc did for microsoft lol... Kent

i think R* expected people to Mod, thus the handling.cfg and the skins, etc.. I doubt they thought things like MTA would come out of it though, MTA is different than other mods because of hwo involved it is... and how little we developed it on. All the same, R* supports our project so we are happy.. Kent

1. don't talk about warez in our forums.. 2. there is a there is an ingame options menu for setting up controls.. look around 3.. gotta lock it cause its not really MTA related Kent
-
well our website just broke the 500,000 hit marker... pretty exciting Hopefully the popularity will continue to soar with future releases Kent

lol GGM is the one w/ the bad player numbers.... just people never see whothey are playing against w/ MTA because they don't know how to start the game GGM is good though Kent
