Yeah this isnt really a bug, its not implemented. In actual fact it needs to be written in Lua - for those of you who didnt know, in single player the parachute is also scripted using the mission script. MTA doesnt use the mission script, so it isnt possible to implement it this way. Once we get necessary functions such as proper animations this shouldnt be a problem to implement as a resource.

Only "QA approved" or "MTABETA enabled" servers are activated with stats. These are specially picked servers which are trusted to log this information.

You need to get ahold of a No-cd patch for 1.0 san andreas and install it into your GTASA directory (it doesnt replace any files). Then install mta and it should work.

This topic is invalidated then. No use to the developers if you're using outdated versions. Another topic that's going to be ignored i expect.

Ped support is very premative at this time. Right now they can do basic tasks but its not very advanced yet. For now they are unable to drive vehicles or shoot weapons. It is a matter of adding and syncing the more advanced tasks that allow for these functions.

Well a warm welcome to the community, but im probably going to be locking this topic as its likely to turn out to be an sa-mp all hate topic.

l I don't agree with that logic at all. The average person wouldnt ever need more than a knife or a baseball bat to defend themselves. You might think "oh what happens when someone with a gun comes along", but a) If they were banned the chances of that happening would be minimal b) If you DID have a gun to defend yourself, blood would be spilled either way - whether it was the "defender" or the "attacker". It wouldnt exactly reduce the number of deaths. "Oh yeah, sure, if we give everyone guns no one would use them!" - Lazlow

I don't like the logic of "It's not GTA". Can you tell me what GTA is? Freeroam? I don't think that's what GTA is. What annoys me is that people think that gamemodes such as team deathmatch and capture the flag take away the GTA element. Why can't your CTF map span across one of the islands, with vehicles, guns, modshops? By your logic, GTA missions arent true GTA because they restrict gameplay. There's no reason why a proper teamwars map - which involves taking over of gang territory - can't be "GTA". Obviously GTA involves gangwar territory in single player. What i'm trying to say is, MTA's gamemode being "true GTA" and having focus are not mutually exclusive.

There is a command for nametags too, "shownametags". Also, interiors.zip contains locations of all interiors.

I'll admit, i despise the freeroam nature of gamemodes, and jfk003 is spot on about RPG modes. With MTA we didnt actually ship any proper freeroam modes, they were all team based, or focused modes - stealth, tdma, interstate69, battlefield69, teamwars. All of them involve focused gameplay where you have a proper set of objectives in order to actually "win" a game (as appose to just endless gameplay that amounts to nothing). This is the type of gameplay that forms proper multiplayer games of today. How many popular online games do you see with just "freeroam" modes where, in essense, you do absolutely nothing? We were hoping with dp1 that people would get into focused gameplay of GTASA, and the gamemodes that were released showed that both MTA and GTA could be flexible and produce any mode you wanted, rather than MTA 0.x's "pointless" gameplay. For some reason this didnt work out, and now servers are dominated by freeroam and "RPG" servers. However, i believe this is a developing area and there is still hope: namely the clan scene. Luckilly the clan scene is the community you can rely on to always want focused, competitive gameplay that are team games. This is a very much developing area for MTA, and i hope to drive this aspect further forward ( viewtopic.php?f=9&t=21658 ). Once the clan scene has developed, I expect that there will be a demand for users to join clans rather than just play on freeroam servers. This leads on to them playing on more focused gamemodes because that's the only way they can prove themself. After being in QA for such a long time, it is rather dissatisfying to see the lack of welcoming for "proper" gamemodes. But to sum up, i think people are going to get bored of this crap and start playing competitively again.

There is a downgrader for users of San Andreas Second Edition: http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=15151 This should enable you to play.

SIngle player just glues the player to the vehicle as well, and uses some sort of 1st person SCM function that MTA doesnt have access to. You don't actually "driveby" as such.
-
Yeah sorry MTA isnt ever going to have stupid high-level commands that aren't flexible, and its frustrating when people ask for them. All these functions are possible in script. I would reccomend Mr.Hankey's post as a solution to your problem.

That's not quite how it is works. Broph is not labelled as a gamemode, so that when users vote for modes they cannot choose broph (as it would be chaos). This means it is simply a script which is started and stopped. You can fix this by modifying the meta.xml and labelling broph's "type" as gamemode. Otherwise you should stop broph before starting a gamemode.

Nice work. Would all users please avoid asking any help on SA-MP as it does not relate to this board.

You dont do it with coordinates, its relevant to the rotation. This graph of sin and cos might make it clearer(its in degrees not radians): http://www.mathsrevision.net/alevel/pure/sincostan.gif

The XML .map syntax uses "health", the pickup type function uses integers
