I could quote that big hunk of text and depict it but I'm making this as short as possible: First off, adding to what Jon said, I think its evident you should read http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=13379 I think the racemod concept has a special Grand Theft Auto style to it. Theres no other race game you can play that allows the same elements of gameplay, so it retains its image. We've extensively tested the release beforehand and then during a pre-public mass beta test where the results were perfect. I'm very sorry your one of the minority to have this super-crash problem. Personally, I can play for hours and hours on end without a single crash. It can't be said that it isn't possible for hardware/software problems even after testing with so many different people. Some people have also complained about frame rates, but thats your pcs fault. Call of Duty 2 isn't junk just because some people don't have the stuff to play it (also an online game). Besides what I've said that is working on being fixed (top annoyances/bugs), I can't see much argument to your post as thats the fault of the map creators. You can then say theres too many "noob maps", well then look on the community center and see which have the highest ratings. As for the MTA fanboys, I think theres not that many of us. That is unless you find our comments bashing other mods just because we disliked them (hell, after waiting until they were released and we tried them not to mention). For me personally, MTA has always been the only choice and still is for me. Sure there was VCMP but it had its issues and 0.5 remained more popular, so I didn't pay much attention to it (though not to say it was bad). I'm aware some flaming has been done lately on the xfire support topic for other mods but apparently only MTA can accept criticism and as soon as anybody else gets some back, its 'MTA wants all the attention' or 'MTA silences opinions' etc. For the SAMP comment, those involved with that mod know what their intentions are. As I said that comment has no specific target, the ones who are involved with that mod and do it for those reasons know who they are. In the end I'm truly sorry that some of you are disappointed but its a free mod and theres nothing you can get from complaining about it. This is why I (personally) don't bother bashing the FREE mods as its just disrespectful to those who have dedicated their freetime to your enjoyment. In other words, I respect all the mods unless their team or beta testers start flaming other mods constantly.

Sometimes I don't understand why some of these SAMP guys constantly state how much they dislike MTA, yet hang around MTA's forums constantly monitoring every move, bashing every little news of progress that comes, along with the eventual releases. Whats the point? Oh wait the answers so simple: they must just be hyping SAMP and trying to poison people into thinking MTA has done them wrong... its like your a sports heckler in the stands that just wont stop and has overstayed his welcome. Not all SAMP people in this forum are defined by this so don't start the hate rally just yet. I think there are some though, and they know who they are.
  4. Well what are the things that make it so disappointing for you? I don't see how it was so much "hype" when people were constantly updated on what was being worked on and how things were going in pristine detail. A list of top annoyances has been made and they'll work on resolving them. This isn't the first time a release has had some issues that needed a patch or two to improve it greatly.

    About the MTA SA...

    I guess not enough, people must be bs'ing themselves into believing maybe theres some sort of mundane freeroam on foot mode included with a few guns or something. I mean seriously how can so many people not realize this has been a race mode project all along... and that deathmatch is coming LATER (not to mention that sticky that confirms deathmatch ages ago http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=13379 )

  8. Its pretty good... left some of my criticisms on the comments section of your page but overall very nice.
  9. I agree you pinpoint things better and have a route tracer for those maps with tons of cps. If you asked for Ians permission to use that high quality map and made some sort of handy download I'd use this for sure.

Just a note on hot route: the easy ways across SA are blocked because they make it much less entertaining, so most of those objects are dedicated to blocking off the highways and railroad tracks/bridges. I like this little tool but the objects as large semi-transparent black boxes isn't very good. If you could pinpoint them as red dots it would be nicer. Also feels like the route tracer should go about half as fast as its blazing atm Nice work.
  12. I have always been able to go into gtasa sp and choose resolution. MTASA should use whatever you selected. It seems to change on me sometimes (maybe due to pc resetting I dont know).

  14. It may be but maybe not since ppl are dying for deathmatch so badly... they probably will get to that asap and just do the important fixes
  15. 1st choices I'd like for VCP: -parking garages/underground complex under SF airport -Cargo containers ship (where prisioners are held on that one mission) extra choices: -Maybe the building from that one mission down at the docks with the warehouse you can go in. Note: theres a debugging feature used for this video thats not included in release version. It looks kinda laggy but it was completely smooth as I flew it. This feature allowed me to fraps it as I played the video back instead of destablizing my framerate.
  17. Thanks guys, the other qateam told me it would be famous but a whole server dedicated to it (I think theres another that runs break/dd or is it this?) is pretty flattering. I've worked on a sequel somewhat (not in style but its what I did due to success of destruction derby) called gridlock. Its on the download site. It's probably not very impressive as dd or break but I think I'm going to do some things with it. I had to stop work on destruction derby as it currently floats under the 250 object limit (friggin haybales). This gridlock has some huge alleyway pieces its only got probably 100-150 objs so I can do some work on it. I think its going to end up having multiple areas where you can gamble your life to get the edge (pickups or more massive cars). Again... thanks for the dedicated server
  18. edit by ransom - I have decided on advice of another mod (as i asked) that its best to wait for the entire modteam's opinion before making any statements/actions on 'what i did'. This is to avoid tons of days of unnecessary flaming in the wrong place and destroy someones topic. Apologies...

  20. tbh i cannot see gta3blue or vcblue as race still has a little improving to do, then deathmatch comes (and sdk) who knows how long that will take? Whats nice about blue is that you can port quite a bit of it over for vc and gta3 so it wouldn't be starting from scratch. The deciding factor will probably be R* with its speed of releasing a new GTA (i was heartbroken when SA came and the team decided to do that instead of vcblue but... it was fun).
