About the object limit in Map Editor.
Ransom replied to El_Conde_Mafias's topic in General discussion
I had some of the first crashy maps where eai explained to me the pools were going over (my 8lap wallride is redlined pushing the limit). He did say he could double it though it would take some more memory (a small amount I think)... p.s. certainly -
I actually did get ahold of him but hes checking it out so... I guess technically its not confirmed but its pretty certain I think.

People have been asking lately what the hecks going on... Firefox will update but Internet Explorer will give you errors. I haven't tested other browsers so I don't know the results. This is the issue however and it is being worked out.

02/09/06 Updated: 8Lap wallride - Added object that makes launch success rate much, much greater. Might actually work as a real race now. Sand football - Spawn order updated as all were spawning on one side. Drug Runners - Spawn order updated as all were spawning on one side. Planes vs Bikes - Spawn order updated as all were spawning on one side. Disc Derby - Fixed barrels as they were too close and chain-reaction explosions Destruction Derby NIghtstorm - Spawn Vehicle Changed

I just want to recall this thread because I am indeed wrong... I guess the system was changed again at the last minute? First it was by order, then random, then it got changed back again I believe. Sorry really bad overconfidence

Quick note, F6 will center on anything you highlight in map editor element menus.

I have a request, I need a map mover that lets you add/subtract from the xyz of any objects but ONLY the objects selected. I could do this by cutting them and pasting them into a fake map file but it really would be nice to have a proper tool. Adding on to this for the ultimate tool: for good looks and optimal smoothness I usually goto the map file to clone things and offset them by a certain increment. For example spawn points. Problem is, with these tools, you can only add 1 set amount to each. If, for example, I could copy 24 spawns into a file and tell the 1st to increase by 8x1 then second by 8x2 then 8x3 etc I could set them all quickly. To do either of these tools it would most likely need a gui and show the map file (like bartons scm editor), let you highlight things, and then bring up a dialog with some nice options (maybe radio buttons to add/subtract from x/y/z).

well... gj http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=15525 locky. ps... be glad for this ppl I had to copy & paste new coords for "RC WAR Z" to make it work correctly... ALL 3 COORDS! Took me like an hour to get it right. These tools turn hours into minutes.

hrm I was interested in this but its dead link... I'm exactly the type he describes (except denying that firefox is faster).

All I'm thinking about now is a bus drive-by with 8 people on board. Will the SDK be coming out shortly or after a few more releases of mta? I dont think this will be normally possible because of the style a bus is... (not meant for driveby). I think this would only happen if some strange glue method was put in, but still it would probably have to look strange.

Nah its been known for awhile but we only bothered with hyrda skill tests (myself and chrml) It would be hard to distinguish between skills and a terrible map (ie biding a sense of luck over skill) with land/sea vehicles I think.

Its the principle... the ettiqute that makes the experience enjoyable. Not everyone dying and then sitting in spectator waiting for the champion to hunt down some coward and/or absolute jerk that wants to ruin the game.

I edited quite a few things lately (namely bloodring is updated but not as new version but new race since the updater has been broken). I see quite a few of mine here, the most up-to-date versions are now linked here: http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=15323

Sometimes the coolest maps are the simplest ones. Sounds neat.
