We held a large semi-public MTA Vice City 0.4 test yesterday with some of the regulars from irc.multitheftauto.com, channel #mta. It seemed to perform well and on the whole people were impressed with the update. One regular crash came to light that hadn′t affected the smaller in-team tests, and we are looking into ways to prevent that at the moment. As with the gta3mta 0.4 news post I will be changing these images over the next few days. A big thank you to all who helped test.

English is the International Business Language, that's why most other countries teach it as a matter or course and why most non-british people speak it pretty fluently This has the unfotunate side effect of british people not having much incentive to learn foriegn languages resulting in most of us being unable to speak them

Basically 0.3b with vehicle damage + extra dodos. Finally, for now, a couple of shots from very early gta3mta 0.4 development and testing. Will post more later if i can be botheres and if people want to see them.

From what i understand GTA:LCs hope is to convert vice city as close to gta3 as possible, including cars, peds, missions. I.e, it is fundamentally a single player modification. We have also been lead to believe that the GTA:LC teams leader isnt keen on it being used with multiplayer, be it MTA or a lesser mod.

No, the percentage is how much we judge to be complete, it doesnt mean you only have 20% of the time spent so far to wait, it means we have approximately 20% of the mod left to finish. It's possible to succesfully complete 15% of the mod in a single day, and then spend two weeks getting 5% to work correctly. Its just an indicator of the current state of the mod, nothing else

60% my baboon. 99% of people accused of cheating are innocent. Lag, bugs, misunderstanding about how this multiplayer works differently to every other multiplayer you have experienced, these are what get people called cheats. For example i played for over 7 hours total today in the official, (supposedly the worst server for cheat problems), total 2 speed hackers in all that time, the pair had joined together, and got banned together. However even a single released hack or cheating player is too many in our opinion, and of course we work on anticheat with each release. But as with the rest of the mod the anticheat is also Beta, not finished. There will always be those who have to or want to cheat, the really sad thing is that there are relatively talented people out there who choose to rip our work apart and then give others the means to basically spoil the fun for others. This will be a constant battle until either: a] The crackers grow up and find something more productive to do b] MTa hits version 1.0 - even then who knows, we may still be required to fritter away more valuable dev time on blocking out the cheaters. Lets hope not.
