  1. I won't make this. As I said, if you come up with an idea of your own, I might be willing to do something. As a general rule, I only take small jobs at the moment.
  2. Nice, but how about providing the actual arguments for those functions?
  3. Also offtopic: :D!!
  4. mtaserver.conf in the server folder. There's a setting for max players.
  5. Unless you have an original idea, or something important to add to an existing one, please, don't bother. You'll be wasting your time. Why would you want to run a copy of a server, when the original is likely to be better than your imitation of it? What in your server will make the players of the original want to move to yours? Why should new players choose a copy instead of the real deal? Can't you just scrape together an idea of your own? If it's not weeks of work (which I don't have time for) and if it's actually worth-while, I might even take the job.

    MTA in the news

And since you don't, you spend staggering amounts of time on spamming and nagging instead... it's not going to help anything, you do see that, right?
  7. Personally, I detest working with zip files. If it were me, I'd uncompress all resources you think you'll modify, and throw out the zip files. This could also be the problem, if you accidentally compressed the folder into a format MTA doesn't recognize.
  8. There's a lot of stuff to be considered when giving such an estimate, though. Development progress is extremely variable. It can go from being stuck for days, to skipping forward 5% in one day, or even having tons of commits reverted because they didn't work and setting back the roadmap a lot. There are also a lot of things that need to be done. For example, new bugs are still being put on mantis by the dozen, some of them too important to leave out. When fixing one bug, there's almost always a slight chance of causing another. I think that releasing 1.0 without a proper "stress test" aka. official beta test would be sheer idiocy, and that test will almost certainly reveal new bugs too. Third, developer activity hasn't really been that extensive since Jax' changes were mass reverted... (No offense intended to any devs.) I'm honestly not sure what to say (hence my earlier reply) but am currently slightly tempted to say late fall, possibly winter/christmas.
  9. Then there's either something wrong with the script (in which case you'd get an error in the server console or debugscript,) or you've simply put it in the wrong place.
  10. Sorry, but you have no idea how many people ask this. You don't really give any information about what kind of server you'd like to start, but as a general rule, your best bet is really to learn Lua and script for yourself, maybe get a buddy or two in on the project. It's not all that hard to grasp if you get a decent tutorial and spend some time on it. You'll also want to read the lists of functions and events to get an idea of what you can do. The scripting forum and IRC channel (#mta.scripting at irc.multitheftauto.com) can also be helpful.
  11. Hey, no need to be mean! Seriously, though, what else can I say?
  12. Refreshall shouldn't really be necessary, for me, it's always been enough to save the file and restart the resource...
  13. Odd.. that should've been in there by default... Well, whatever. As long as it works.
  14. Then you probably got a bug in yo' ACL. Double-check that you added the right username (account name, not player name) to the right group. (Admin)
  15. Then you need to make sure you're already registered with that same name in your accounts.xml. If you aren't, you just need to register with /register or /addaccount name password Then login with /login name password. You can just type the password if the name is the same as your player name.
  16. Press P. If nothing happens, make sure you're actually listed as admin, registered and logged in, and that the resource is running... Enter /start admin in the chat.
  17. When it's done. I wouldn't hold my breath, though... from the looks of it it looks like it could be a while.
  18. Bear in mind, you don't really know yet... As a general rule though, 24 hours should be enough.
  19. 10 min is way too little. It can take several hours, maybe even a day or so.
  20. I added an alternate download link, since IMO, using upload sites like Rapidshit, sendspace and the like is an unholy sin.. http://robhol.net/files/MTANU.zip What did you use to make the program, by the way?
  21. I actually think Word does have a video player (embedded clips ), but I do agree with you. Seriously, ALT+TAB isn't that hard, and if that doesn't work now, first, maybe it will in 1.0, second, starting MTA again takes 10 seconds in 1.0 with those horrible nVidia and EAX logos out of the way.
  22. bugs.mtasa.com Don't waste your time reporting it if it's DP2 though.
  23. Out of curiosity, did you try dividing it instead of multiplying it? I'm not sure if it helps, but it seems like a fairly easy thing to test before moving on to more exotic solutions...
  24. No. It's an event and you don't call events like that. Until you learn what you're talking about, please do the entire forum a favor and shut the hell up... I've told you this before and, what's worse, I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who has.
