  1. We will be doing a large ammount of beta testing for blue to ensure the final product is as perfect as possible. We haven't decided how this will work yet. eAi
  2. Well I think most people would like to be able to play MTA without getting epileptic fits rather than have 1200 cheaters... eAi
  3. Its true, slow motion in multiplayer games really doesn't work, hence max payne (2) doesn't have multiplayer. One thing that has been suggested, and might work, is to make "slow motion" make you move faster. This would have the same effect (i.e. you can dodge things - though not bullets - and be harder to hit). Making you slower, as slow motion does in Vice City, would kinda be counter-productive as it'd make you an easy target. eAi
  4. The testing phase for blue will be much more thorough than it has been for previous versions. We'll be releasing information on how you can get involved soon, please don't ask. eAi
  5. Nice looking stuff there! We haven't really thought about custom maps in blue, but I'm sure many game-modes will benefit from them considerably. Good work. We'll be releasing information on how mapping (and other moddifications) will work with blue nearer the release. eAi
  6. Thats one thing I do not see us ever doing. eAi
  7. Take Two Interactive could probably sue us for not acknowledging that Vice City is their trademark, but I doubt they would. Best to be safe. eAi
  8. We will have cars without players in sync'd perfectly for people who join after the game has started. Team play will be possible, one way or another. It should be very easy for the addon to give players different skins and different radar marker colours (or just show your own team's). eAi
  9. No. If we were to release now, we'd have a very unstable product thats not very "well rounded". Currently we're still adding and completing many of the features that are on the information page. I've just completed the main shooting code (its taken me 4 months, working like 6 hours a day) so thats a major thing out of the way. Theres still lots to do, such as optimising the netcode and completing much of the integration. eAi
  10. We will have some sort of passenger support for boats. I've not actually tried anything yet, but we'll have a look at it at some point. eAi
  11. We will include some mods, otherwise blue is just a shell, nothing to play with. What these will be we haven't decided yet, but a few are in production. We won't be including a mod such as Liberty City converted, due to the size. eAi
  12. As you don't know quite what addons will have access to, its hard for you to judge how easily they could be implemented. I have looked around at some scripting engines and none of them could be implemented easily enough for what we require. eAi
  13. I wouldn't expect SA:PC before May 20th 2005 or so. Sony have a 6 months exclusivity contract with R*/TTI afaik, so they can't release it before then. eAi
  14. How can you blend into a croud when the croud is unsync'd. It'd be pretty clear it was you as you'd be walking through pedestrians and vehicles. eAi
  15. Well tbh, you can't really expect to play windows games if you only have linux... We might try, but its nowhere near the top of our priorities. Its possible our new core "blue" may work better. eAi
  16. Its somthing we might contemplate at some point, but I've never seen anyone else do this... Don't you have a windows computer? eAi
  17. apparently I'm in amsterdam.... eAi
  18. It'd be possible, it'd require some maths knowledge though... eAi
  19. They'd be done propperly. eAi
  20. You're welcome to, but this is a bit early to suggest it, as we don't know when we will be releasing. eAi
  21. We've contemplated producing a scripting engine via an addon, or integrating lua or similar, but we don't really have the time, if we want to release blue any time within the next year It'd be entirely possible for someone to integrate a scripting engine, but we believe that allowing C++ addons gives people a lot of power that can be well used (as well as badly used of course). We will try our best to make everything as straightforward as possible to create an addon, and I'm sure some people will make tools that make it even easier, once we release the SDK. eAi
  22. Completing a training, and having to complete a game are different things. Theres logical reasons to make people complete a training - so they aren't complete noobs, theres no real logical reason to give random bonuses to people who have to much free time. eAi
