We've not worked out what this will be yet. eAi

Please don't paste really long logs, just paste the relevant bit. If you really have to paste long logs, highlight the relevant part(s). eAi

Well... No, you can't have a map as we haven't placed any weapons or pickups etc, thats not part of the core, thats an addon task... one day people will get this... Essentially, we don't change any vice city files, appart from a very minor chage to weapons.dat (I think) as mentioned previously this is so that melee weapons work, and it doesn't effect single player (and it changed back when the game exits anything - I think. eAi

Those ropes are just particle effects, they're not really attached to them or anything. eAi

I think if people are planing on learning c++ for BLUE, it'd be best to wait for the SDK to be released, as C++ is a large language. Althogh it wouldn't harm you to learn c++ "from top to bottom", theres a lot included in many books thats not at all relevant to addon development for MTA. Looking at the SDK for Half-Life might be a good guide to the kind of things you'll need to do, though not neccessarily how you'd do it. eAi

I don't think that anyone can really claim that RenderWare is unstable, after all its used in an awful lot of games. Comparing it to source is stupid, as the two engines are designed for very different purposes. You couldn't make GTA in source, and you couldn't make a very good FPS in RenderWare. RenderWare's aims to produce an engine that can cope with large areas, on multiple platforms (PC, XBox, Playstation, GameCube), not just PC like Source. eAi

Has anyone got a custom bmp skin that they've made (for vc obviously)? I'll look into it if someone gives me one. eAi -
Everytime I die for the first time, and respawn, 5 seconds..

I think some people find VC 1.0 more reliable than 1.1, so try that, or vice versa. eAi -
Please use the search button before asking. This same question was asked only a few days ago and is at the top of the suggestions forum here: http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=9443 eAi

That'll be fixed in blue. On the subject of custom skins, for a start theres no obvious way to apply a BMP to an actor (the player can, but other players can't), I could work out how, but is it worth it? Secondly, the bitmaps are large (the one I just tested was 192KB). That'd take a 56K modem user 40 seconds to download for each player, not really practical. As nice as the idea of custom skins sounds, it wouldn't work. It might be useful for mods that want to easily add a custom skin to a player though, for a game mode use... eAi -
Oh, we do try to look at each of the reports, especially the ones with "user reports". They're now coming in faster than I can look at them really (about 1 a minute, and I've got other things to do), but they all contribute to seeing which are the most common crashes (4452D7 is, with 25.17% of the reports). We've now got 894 reports, though only 14.77% actually have "user reports" attached. This is normally ok, but for the 4.18% of errors that have only occured once, we need as much information as possible. I may add a "common-ness" output on the error dialog so that people can see if their error is new or really common... No, we don't look at any gfx card data, once we've looked through the data we've got so far, we'll see if we need such information and if so add it to the client (which will ask you to update if we do). Of course we're always interested if you find out theres an issue with a certain combination of drivers of hardward with MTA, so we can inform others (e.g. the old ATI drivers issue). eAi

It should just show your own... eAi

U've done 54. Next time you get a crash, it'll appear in the dialog that pops up (or should do). Please write reports, it makes the erorrs so much easier to analyse. eAi

lol, yes Win XP SP2 on 80.235.132.176. Btw, writing "omg" as your report doesn't help us at all. eAi

SP2 works fine with MTA/VC. Try deleting the .set file in your vice city saved games folder (in your "my documents" folder). eAi

Rules are entirely up to the server admin, and nothing to do with us. Ask on the server as I'm sure it varies from server to server. eAi

29 actually, number 2 in the rankings, "jani" is #1 with 43 reports.eAi

GF: I screwed up the server then noticed about an hour later (no reports came in), its fixed now. Have you tried deleting your .set file in your saved games folder?eAi

and the fact that you aren't actually building the city, or seeing it from top down isometric view... eAi

I don't think we can detect those freezes... eAi
