Please report this issue on Mantis, otherwise it just gets lost in the noise.

That IP is correct.

I believe the installer has required administrator rights for a few major versions now. What version of Windows are you running? I don't know the answer to your resources question.

MTADiag - diagnostic tool for MTA:SA & Support section information
Towncivilian replied to Towncivilian's question in Client
MTADiag 1.2 is out. Uses libcurl to automatically download the latest nightly installer and DirectX web updater (if required) Unfortunately, libcurl.dll and zlib1.dll have to be bundled with MTADiag now, so it's not really standalone anymore. URL for 1.2 nightly download updated from "unstable" to "rc"- 58 replies

Reinstall MTA and then install the patch again.

The crash seems to point to a non-standard car model. Is your installation of GTA:SA modified at all? You said you reinstalled the game and the problem persists. Where did you obtain your copy of GTA:SA? Also, the audio driver did not successfully update - you may want to try reinstalling it.

As far as I know, MTA:SA's anti-cheat works very well. I don't remember the last time I read a forum post or an anecdote on IRC about some moron hacking or cheating in-game. No *.asi or other module files are loaded by MTA, so that stops arguably the easiest method of code injection. Hell, I'd say MTA 0.5 for Vice City & III had a more effective anti-cheat than SA-MP, if it's as bad as you claim. There is a lengthy thread comparing SA-MP and MTA here. Welcome to the forums. I see you're a fellow Floridian!

MTADiag - diagnostic tool for MTA:SA & Support section information
Towncivilian replied to Towncivilian's question in Client
MTADiag does not update any drivers automatically, only DirectX if it is out of date. And it also doesn't install MTA nightly or DirectX automatically (yet) - it just launches a browser window with the download link to the latest nightly/DX, then you must save and install the file yourself. MTADiag does not interfere at all with MTA, and doesn't leave any generated files on your machine, so you can use this app in the manner you described if you want.- 58 replies

MTADiag - diagnostic tool for MTA:SA & Support section information
Towncivilian replied to Towncivilian's question in Client
Heh, if you say so. It's only 328 lines of C++ code. And Zerbian, I'll still need to search for drivers, but oh well. Less work still if nightly/DirectX fixes stuff and the user ends up not needing to post a logfile.- 58 replies
