  1. Excellent. Enjoy playing MTA!
  2. Of course it does - if the graphics card had no thermal paste between the heatsink and GPU die, it would overheat quickly. I'm saying to remove the current paste and apply fresh paste.

    Problem

OK, all the drivers installed properly. There is no newer graphics driver available. Does MTA:SA work now? Is his GTA:SA modified at all? If so, have him reinstall it. Also make sure that GTA works in single-player.

    Problem

Please install the following: Graphics driver Touchpad driver Chipset drivers Ethernet driver BIOS F.13 Provide another dxdiag log after installing.
  5. The audio driver did not install properly, please try reinstalling it. Everything else installed properly. I'll ask one of the devs if they have any other suggestions. Thanks for your patience.
  6. Thermal interface material Cheap thermal interface material has a tendency to dry out and become ineffective after several years. Remove the GPU from the computer. On the back of it, there should be two or more pushpins. Push these together and then inwards to loosen the heatsink from the GPU. Clean off the paste off both the heatsink and the chip that you uncovered using isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol, then apply a small amount (about this much) thermal paste to the top of the chip (don't spread it), then push the heatsink back into place. Make sure all the push pins are fully seated, then put the card back in the computer and see if it works.

Could your friend provide a dxdiag report? Press the Windows key + R, type dxdiag, press Enter, click Save all information... and post the contents of the saved log here within Code tags.
  8. The fan probably died on the GPU (if it has a fan). If it doesn't have a fan, reseat the heatsink using fresh thermal paste.
  9. The OP does not have a core.log, otherwise it would be present in the log file that MTADiag generated.
  10. Sorry, please use this link. Do a Repair install if prompted.
  11. Pedestrian and vehicle multipliers are controlled by two SCM opcodes: 01EB: SET_CAR_DENSITY_MULTIPLIER 03DE: SET_PED_DENSITY_MULTIPLIER SCM is disabled in MTA:SA. You can find the opcode addresses and call them directly to achieve the same result as the opcodes.
  12. Please install the following: Audio driver Ethernet driver Provide another dxdiag log after installing. Do you have GTA:SA 1.0?

    Problem

Have your friend download and run MTADiag and follow the instructions.
  16. That GeForce 6200 is slow as molasses. I suggest you save up your money to get something modern as well.
  17. Please install the following: Audio driver Chipset drivers Storage driver Ethernet driver BIOS 0034 Provide another dxdiag log after installing.
  18. Install the latest patch of MTA:SA and see if the problem persists.

    San Andreas

Please don't post links to warez here. jabounce15, try to obtain a copy of GTA:SA - preferably the "HOODLUM" release.
  20. The drivers installed properly. You can't connect to any servers at all? Can you run Map Editor?
  21. Are you running MTA 0.5r2? Is there an mtavc_dll.dll present in your GTA:VC folder?
