The port that you've set the game to run on...

You need to open the game port and admin port you've specified in your config file, and also the game port+123 if you want the All-Seeing Eye to query your server and display it on the list. And you can leave the ports as default. I thought the config would have been simple enough, I mean there's a few lines for each section which tell you what you have to put, it isn't rocket science.

Try updating your graphics drivers, and make sure you have the latest DirectX (9.0 I think).

Obviously he posted in the wrong section.

Try searching for the word "brightness", you may get some results.

MTA 0.5 does NOT have client verification, just a shoddy anticheat. And you should read the EULA, it does clearly state that no third party mods are allowed to be run simultaneously with MTA.
-
The frame limiter isn't forced on in MTA 0.5. Only in MTA:SA.
-
Upload your map to the MTA center. If people think your map is good, they will download it and put it on their server. I've downloaded LOADS of maps from there and put them on mine.

If you don't have the password to your router, you're stuffed. Get your parents to forward your gameport, adminport and gameport+123 and it should work. Make sure you have those ports open on your firewall too.
-
I'm curious, which flags did you recompile it with? I can't get the 1.03 server to run, I get that exact same error you have.
-
If you're using Hamachi, start the server on your computer and open the necessary ports on your router/firewall, and then tell your friend on Hamachi to connect to your Hamachi IP, not your Internet IP.
-
What do you mean you "pounded it in the server?" You're meant to open, mtaserver.conf, edit those lines, save it and restart the server.
-
Yes, as long as you have forwarded the queryport (gameport + 123) through your router and firewall, and it's accessible to the outside world.
-
Tell him to uninstall the game, delete the entire GTA San Andreas folder, install the game, then install MTA:SA in the GTA San Andreas folder. Also make sure he installs NO MODS OR CHEATS OR ANYTHING else.
-
You don't need the server package unless you're planning to run a server. And are you sure you installed the client to the GTA San Andreas directory?
-
A lot of people get this. First, you see that the checkpoints aren't working, you pass through them but they don't register, and then it won't let you type anything in the chat, and sometimes you get kicked for suspected cheating. This is probably because your connection drops a packet between you and the server and they lose synch, and then something is triggered in the admin which thinks you're cheating...I really don't know. A lot of people have this issue, although I haven't *yet*.

Patching your 1.01 or 2.00 version of gta_sa.exe
Jani replied to darkdreamingdan's question in Client
Nice add. Hopefully this will allow a lot of people with other region exe's and the hot coffee patch to play MTA.
