  1. When we find out what the problem is, and how to fix it, I'm sure the team will do something. Edit: are your Intel processors the ones with HT technology?
  2. You need to make sure you forward ports on the router, which in this case would be PC2, the computer that the modem is linked to. Disable any firewalls you have on PC1, since PC2 will already be protecting it. ALSO MAKE SURE YOU DISABLE WINDOWS FIREWALL ON BOTH COMPUTERS! By the way, the server browser does not show servers on your local network. And are you sure that the IP address of PC1 is what you said it is?
  3. Ok, on an AMD 1GHz cpu with 256MB RAM, I had the server running for a couple of hours and it never used over 0% cpu. I don't see the problem.

    game lags

If you're talking about framerate lag, it's probably because you're running an Intel Celeron; these processors aren't designed for gaming and therefore will not give the performace that you want out of it. Latency lag (players jerking backwards and forwards on the screen) is caused by high latency and packetloss between you and the server. This can be resolved by having a faster network connection, and also playing on a server which is located closer to you.

  6. I've just started up a server on my Windows 2003 box at home, since you say it does the high CPU load even with 0 players in there, I'll test overnight.

  8. LOL, it broke because of MTA?
  9. You put the IP, port, a nickname, and the admin password into the remote admin tool and click "Connect".
  10. No you liar, that's my server's IP.
  11. 1) What error do you get when you start the game? 2) You can kick players by using the Serveradmin tool which comes with the download (in the Server Admin folder). 3) Ping is the time in milliseconds that it takes for your computer to send a data packet to the server and for it to be returned. The closer you are to the server, and the higher bandwidth you have, the lower your ping is going to be. Since you're running the server in your house, you should have a ping of around 2 or 3. Other players who are in the same country, depending on yours and their connection, should have between 30 and 80. Obviously unless you have a lot of upstream bandwidth, the more players who join your server, the higher the pings are going to get. I suggest you read the link Brophy gave, it goes into a lot more detail about it.
  12. When you submitted the post, did you tick the box which says "Disable BBCode in this post" ? Other than that, I have no idea.
  13. Yo, I wrote an extensive guide to setting up a server on the Windows operating system, here's the link: http://www.forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=14830 If you need to set up server on Linux, add me to msn [email protected] and I'll help
  14. The server should see them pretty much instantly, even without the need for restarting. I put a new map on my server a minute ago, connected to remote admin and it was already there.
  15. Happy birthday and stuff innitnitnig

  23. Ok the solo test went well, there were 5 of us testing out the maps that bump made, it went well and was a good laugh. The server is up at 85.234.136.102:22003 and you're welcome to join when it's not being used for the official races.
