I'm slowly getting there, but indeed, it will not compile without some small modifications. And even if it compiles you still need a 64bit net.so . -

debian/ubuntu users can try http://linux.multitheftauto.com . I also put a generic package up there that may or may not work on other distributions. If it doesn't, gimme a shout with distroname + version.

Server giving download error Alltime [bug:4930][solved]

Updates are following fast, for now it should be enough to disable lan reporting in your mtaserver.conf and the server should work <donotbroadcastlan>1</donotbroadcastlan> -
Server giving download error Alltime [bug:4930][solved]
Blokker_1999 replied to Taalasmaa's topic in Linux-Server
We have confirmed that there is a problem with running 2 or more linux servers on the same machine. Also the second server will hang when someone tries to acces it via a browser. We are trying to pinpoint the exact problems at this moment and we hope to get back to you guys as soon as possible. -

hell, hadn't even noticed they were gone. Forums read so smooth without them -
dp 2.3 and race are no longer supported and we recommend everyone to use 1.0 . It is more stable and includes all of the features and more of dp and race. (yes you can race on 1.0) Dedicated linux servers should be available today or tomorow, for windows i'll ask around in the dev channel for someone to make an installer.

The server with the error will most likely not work since another service is using the ip/port it tries to use.
-
the final configure of MTA fails because it can't find curses even though you have installed ncurses-devel . For some reason the configure script can not find the files needed from the package system. The solution is compiling and installing curses from source. You can find it at http://ftp.gnu.org/pub/gnu/ncurses/ncurses-5.7.tar.gz Packages you can install via yast or zypper : readline-devel, libcurl-devel, sqlite3-devel and pcre-devel .

What distribution are you running?
-
If you want to run the server in the background we recommend using the screen utility. If you are not familiar with it you may want to read the manpages first.
-
Installed Slackware 12.2 and had not a single porblem with compiling or running the server.
-
a map editor is included with 1.0

While i do not remember what the installer just does, this is the first time i come across this complaint. It seems verry odd that the uninstaller removes your SA. And even impossible that it touches directories it has no knowledge about.

a unified repo needs research. I already learned how to build .deb files and set up a repo for them. Should be online by the weekend. We will also be doing research for other distributions, but it will be impossible to test for every distribution out there. I hope for example that one of the 2 debs will also work on Ubuntu (both the LTS version as well as the latest version). Fedora 11 indeed showed some problems (see the support -> linux forum) and if i find the time i'll have a look at slackware as well. OpenSuSE is also on my todolist.

No brake, hard work. Reviewing the release and analyzing it to create a better release strategy for the future. Updating the roadmap and planning on how to proceed for future versions.1.0 was a major milestone, but the fat lady ain't singing yet

i've noticed it. Will try to fix it as soon as possible. Sorry for the problems.

While we are looking into providing binarys we came across a problem on Fedora 11 (maybe other versions and distributions as well) /bin/sh ../../libtool --tag=CXX --mode=compile g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I./../pme -g -O2 -MT libehs_la-httpresponse.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/libehs_la-httpresponse.Tpo -c -o libehs_la-httpresponse.lo `test -f 'httpresponse.cpp' || echo './'`httpresponse.cpp libtool: compile: g++ -DHAVE_CONFIG_H -I. -I../.. -I./../pme -g -O2 -MT libehs_la-httpresponse.lo -MD -MP -MF .deps/libehs_la-httpresponse.Tpo -c httpresponse.cpp -fPIC -DPIC -o .libs/libehs_la-httpresponse.o httpresponse.cpp:9: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:9: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:9: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:9: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:9: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:9: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:9: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp:15: warning: deprecated conversion from string constant to 'char*' httpresponse.cpp: In function 'char' CreateHttpTime()â: httpresponse.cpp:32: error: 'sprintf' was not declared in this scope httpresponse.cpp: In member function 'void HttpResponse::SetBody(const char*, int)': httpresponse.cpp:106: error: 'sprintf' was not declared in this scope make[3]: *** [libehs_la-httpresponse.lo] Error 1 make[3]: Leaving directory `/home/MTA10/svn/branches/1.0/vendor/ehs' make[2]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[2]: Leaving directory `/home/MTA10/svn/branches/1.0/vendor' make[1]: *** [all-recursive] Error 1 make[1]: Leaving directory `/home/MTA10/svn/branches/1.0' make: *** [all] Error 2 [hans@F11 1.0]# Quickfix: Open the file ./vendor/ehs/httpresponse.cpp in your favorite editor (nano, vi, emacs, ... ) After add (on a new line) ======================================================================================== SE Linux SELinux can also cause a problem. When starting the server you get the following error: SElinux (present in newer 2.6 kernels) is refusing certain rights to our net.so . You can either disable SElinux (e.g. by running) . But that would not be the way a good sysadmin works. You can also change the security context of the files involved. As root, run the following commands: relative to the output dir that houses mta-server

I'm working on .debs that solve that issue and a repo for easy downloading. After the .debs work i'm gonna try to create some .RPMs
