What about removing the MTA watermark in-game?
Blokker_1999 replied to DEFCON1's topic in Suggestions
i would say, make it an option, activated by default. And when designing something gui wise, take notice that most ppl have it activated and avoid the corner. -
Then don't go online with modified files ...

I don't know how this little program works but some routers have problems handling large amounts of concurent connections. It is also noticable when using torrents for example. It is possible that that is the problem here.

Azeroth, no matter what your motivation, it is simply not done. You don't mess with other ppls servers or computers just as you wouldn't want anyone to mess with yours. If you want to do something custom, invest your own money or resources in setting it up instead of pissing off other people and wasting their time.

maybe a stupid question but ... why not release the scripts to the community? That way your work won't get lost. You clearly put a lot of time and effort in it. Cause in the end no one can prevent the new owner from doing the same.

I never really developed and yes i am mostly inactive these days, but i still keep an eye on the MTA and it's community

No, back then i was hoping to get my invested money back at some point

roled into it 2 days after the release of gta3:am . Noticed it on a forum where IJs was asking around for some webspace. offered it and now +7 years later i'm still hanging around, investing money (man, what a bad investment, the ROI is 0)

hey, now i can solve my money problems Also don't forget multitheftauto.com and mtavc.com, so that's around 25000 dollars. I'm rich Also what that site does is guessing. Saudi Arabia is a bit lower in the stats. oh, and dnscoop actually reports a higher value. -
Voting on signatures.

time to get my copcar out of the garage But I beleive in the new group of ppl running the show here these days. They are wise and patient. Something /me is not. -
a big congrats to everyone who contributed

We used to have them, but when you look at the sa-mp forum and then come back here you'll notice exactly why we have banned signatures. When you browse the other forum you are seeing more signature than discussion and that can not be the point. In the past we have tried to to regulate signatures, keep the size of them down but that didn't work either simply because ppl hate rules. But I do beleive that in time the sa-mp problem will solve itself. When you look at those forums you'll notice more and more ppl are starting to get fedup with the totalitarian regime they have. Multiple servers that had payed to be on the hosted list have been removed over the past few months without any real, good explenation. The forums get policed like hell and things like that are pissing off the community. SA-MP has seen it's wikipedia article removed a long time ago and has recently been removed from moddb.

but then again gameplay is scripted and can be ported. In the end it's just the simple fact of life that ppl are afraid of change.

5 days isn't old on this forum

What's wrong with that, at least then they will set the nick to something they want.

When it comes down to the language itself, LUA is more used than PAWN. I've even seen commercial games using LUA scripting. When it comes down to scripting between MTA:SA and SA-MP a quick look at both mods wikis will show that MTA has a lot more functions and is most likely to be the mod with the more powerfull scripting capabilities.

Would also like to point out 1 thing. You can not compare playercounts directly. When you want to compare playercounts you got to make sure you use the same system for both mods. In this case http://www.game-monitor.com can provide stats for both mods and then you can see that the gap is a bit smaller compared to when you compare the number from the sa-mp site with the number from our server browser. btw, nice fair discussion here
-
yes, off course there are sync issues. You are trying something that niether the OS or the game was designed to do. The only way to test with 2 players is by using 2 computers.

Ban lists do get cleaned up, but the only way to ever get deleted from that list is to stay under the radar long enough, and basicly asking to be unbanned is not staying below the radar.
