lolz yeh, their on their UK tour and they came to Plymouth and performed at the Plymouth Pavilions (where the basketball is and stuff) and there was not many people (4000 only) like and it was uber-awesome rite cos i got really cheap ticket and like my friend (adam) got knocked out in the most pit (lol) and he also caught a drumstick when it got thrown and now he has a green day drum stick right, anyway we all got totally smashed and it was fun. their coming back to Devon but next time to Milton Keynes Bowl in Milton Keynes (which isnt that far from me) and like that place can hold 60,000 people so like i might go (again) cos their a good band n stuff. btw the support bands (New Found Glory, etc) were also awesome i loved it :D

from my local newspaper:

GREEN FOR GO!

12:00 - 03 February 2005

US rockers Green Day make it a night to remember at Pavilions

A dream of seeing one of the world's best rock outfits play the Plymouth Pavilions became a reality for 4,000 music-lovers last night.

US rockers Green Day - one of the best-selling groups of the last 12 months - rocked the venue to its very foundations.

Involving the audience at every moment, singer and guitarist Billie Joe Armstrong had them laughing, singing, cheering and chanting - and, come the end, pleading for more.

Fans - some of whom dyed their hair green - travelled across the country to be at the concert.

Simon Andrews, from Ernesettle, attended the concert with friends. "It was one of those gigs that you just had to be at" he said.

The stage show was also nothing short of phenomenal with explosions, flames and graphic light screens.

Kicking off with the title track of their latest album, American Idiot, the concert featured many of the band's hits including Basket Case and She.

Bizarrely enough, it also featured Shout by Otis Day and The Knights.

Towards the end of the two-hour set, three lucky fans were invited on to the stage to play the band's instruments as part of the now-traditional Band from the Audience slot.

The encore featured the recent hit Boulevard of Broken Dreams followed by When I Come Around, Queen's We Are The Champions and Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life).

Evidence of such a blistering concert was etched on the faces of those leaving the concert. One exhausted teenage fan summed up the feelings of the audience: "Truly amazing," he said.

Well when he says American idiot.. well what do you expect me to say? I hate his songs? Well that would just prove I think I'm an idiot. I'm not in the category of the typical overweight American that regularly makes stupid choices, doesn't care about environment, other countries, and is a whiney rich ****. Also I don't really care about what the media says about terrorism and all that crap. We have what is probably the safest of all countries.. I mean if you are still scared you are a little girl. Go out and live life.

p.s. I hate ALL reality shows including that piece of trash AMERICAN IDOL, except maybe occasionally one or two times watching an MTV show where there people are flipping out about ready to kill each other.

lets keep it about the music people =P

sounds like a great gig.

not much of a fan myself, but they are a group who have repeatably proven that they can produce quality, even after a small hiatus (their fans started listening to blink 182 - NOOOOO) they can still rock.

Respect from the underground, MTV success, they are just good.

I've seen greenday 5 times now :D!

and! im going to see TONIGHT! at the Metro Radio Arena in newcastle :-D!

Why aye man!

EDIT: omfg they rocked! just as good as the other times i have seen them, they always put on a good show entertaining with the "skits" between songs, their sense of humour is top quality billie joe had the whole crowd making moaning noises when he stuck his hand down his pants ... sounds sick but was pretty funny at the time!

Started squirtin ppl with a fire hose, got people up on stage to play bass drums and guitar and let the guitarist keep his guitar! (lucky :Beep:!!)

and! had a 4 year old come up on stage and get his photo taken so thats something that kid will remember for the rest of his life!

Greenday have got to be one of the best bands around in my opinion, they refuse to sell out and give the fans what they want rather than just play and do what they want!
