Leviathan Posted September 20, 2004 Posted September 20, 2004 Maybe this is a good suggestion for more variation in blue: There are hidden top fun vans, wich contains one of the three rc vehicles (heli ,car & plane). These rc vehicles can be controlled by the player and blow up if you push the attack button. (in someone's face), or you can kill him with the rotor blades. I think it's well balanced becouse: the rc vehicles have a small range (just like in singleplayer minigames with helicopter and race car), and blow up wen they are out of range. the rc vehicles are easy to destroy (just shooting them would be enough) the player inside the top fun van (wich is controlling the rc vehicle) is VEARY vulnerable becouse he can't move himself wich is making him a sitting duck, (you can kill him easily)

It can't occur in single player, so I wonder what happens if we have it in MP My best suggestion would be: the plane blows up simultaniously with the van, when the van is blown up, but not vice versa. Wonder how it should handle jacking though.

Gtatari Posted November 19, 2004 Posted November 19, 2004 woah, yeah, the top fun vans is a good idea. when your jacked, the plane\heli\rc blows up and your returned just as your being pulled out if two ppl get in the van, two planes should be issued.. OR passengers get the planes, and the driver drives the van! that would be awesome, a clan of 8, four vans four planes, you can move the radius of the plane, as the van drives, while the other player flys! parking a van in an alley would allow for suprise attacks..

I didn't do alot of RC stuff in Single Player, so I don't know how far you can take those vehicles before they were out of range. Didn't they blow up if you went to far? In a Multiplayer environment, making the player invincible at any time is a bad thing. I can already see the cries of "Cheater" then "I was flying an rc plane you *insert explitive here*". They would have to write some kind of way to be able to damage / kill the controlling PC while they're out joyriding in an RC car. Now a game mode where you only get RC cars and a random Fun Top van on the map would be fun. 10 players all in hidden vans around town, zooming RC cars around to find and blow up the other 9 players' vans.. Lovely, though I think using the entire city for such a thing would be FAR too huge.

I dont see why this can't happen: -Top Fun Van blows: your plane blows, you die -Top Fun Van gets jacked: your plane blows, camera focuses on your being pulled out -You get shot thru top gun window: your plane blows, camera shows you dying Alternate IDEA: Using DirectX (which mta DOES get the handle of..) make a new drawing instance, in the bottom right of the screen while flying, PIP (Picture In Picture) style. So you can watch your van, while in the air or car \ whatever. But this would be alot to hope for.
