Mark
I'm guessing the ability to take the drugs, which were scattered around the game in single-player won't exist in MTA? I mean, I don't see how you could possibly have your screen move in slow-motion while another's has the same stuff going on in regular speed. I guess I'm kind of talking to myself on this one. xerox
actually thats a really good point! I doubt that everyone's screen should slow down when this happens. hmm - any suggestion programmers? Link to comment
AgentXen
Only you will slowdown. The same thing happens when you jump of something and make an Insane stunt. Your car slows down. The other car keeps goin at same speed. Its actualy cool. It makes you think your just going really fast. Link to comment
Mark
So, do the other players move at the same speed, but see the slowed character moving in slow-motion on their screen? It doesn't make much sense how they might sync simulataneously. I guess I may not be able to grasp the concept. Link to comment
xerox
Drugs work when your in a car? A player on drugs has extra jumping/punching power, which is easy to add, but the slow motion is great for sniping as well=) - and it helps general aiming, thats gonna be hard to implent as it affects everything, including cars, peds, other players, AI etc Link to comment
Mark
Xerox is right about it affecting everything (the slow-motion, I mean.) And no, drugs do not affect driving. Only on-foot. Link to comment
Mr.Bill
why not just change it so it inverts colours? inverted is cool. I'nm guessing that might be easier? maybe? Link to comment
Mark
What would be the beneficial point to acquiring the drug, then? Link to comment
Mr.Bill
I dont know about you, but I love seeing things inverted.. its awsome, but yeah slow motion would probably help you in one way or another.. Link to comment
Gtatari
AngentXen is right.. if the MTA team does nothing about them, then you will move really slowly on other peoples screens... they will move at normal speed. on your screen they will also move at normal speed, as well as other cars.. so the only thing they will do is make you slow down in your game, and on other's screens. nothing else. Not that much of an advantage. Link to comment
TheBigJ
If you take drugs, all it does is make u move slower. There is not advantage to taking them in mta because the other players wont slow down Link to comment
xerox
there is an advantage you can run faster, jump higher, and punch harder. It also helps your aiming! =) Link to comment
Mark
The problem with that "player moving slower" thing is that in the game, when you take a pill, everything in the game slows down; not just your character. Obviously, this wouldn't be possible for everything on the drugged player's screen to be in slow-motion while other players run at a normal rate. Here's what I propose: Remove the "slow-down effect" of the drug, but allow barefist and melee weapons to cause more damage, jump height and distance increase and slight speed increase. This period could last for about 20 seconds and you could denote that the action is in affect by some sort of "heartbeat sound" in the background, which beats slowly and speeds up closer to the end and then returns to normal for a few brief seconds and the sound disappears. What'd you think? Link to comment
TheSlayerOfGod
Haha, imagine seeing a drugged up person , going really slow. You could pick him off in a second. Link to comment
Mark
Haha, imagine seeing a drugged up person , going really slow. You could pick him off in a second. Exactly. It would make grabbing drugs extremely useless. Link to comment
ijsf
Probably everything will be going on normal speed (on the player's screen who took the drugs) except for itself. On the other computers the player will be going very slow. Because of the slowmotion on the player who took the drugs, all the things (cars, other players, etc.) will be just like a too low fps, he will not see them smooth but kinda warping (just like the cars in v0.2a). xerox
ok - but thats a disadvantage, any way to fix the pills so they help the players? - or is that too hard to code? Link to comment

Yeah, that is a disadvantage. If it can't be coded to just remove the slow motion, (which is negative,) but keep the ability to jump higher and further, run faster and punch harder, then pills should be removed altogether. The slowdown can be used for some kind of game type where you have to "Kill the Turtle," or something. Link to comment

left
There is a specialist mod for HL. It is basicly the matrix. When you kill people you get to slow things down for 1 second. Everything. Why not do the same thing in GTA3MTA. Just slow down everyone for 10 or so seconds. Just the person who got the drugs is a little faster then everyone else or the same speed as he was before the drugs. Link to comment
Sandstorm
lol @ mr bill i found that on the net Link to comment
