  1. When they do it it's skills, when you do it you're a newb. Catch my drift? Oh yeah and what rebel said... only without the head shootin part; I'm more of an AVRIL aficionado myself. MISSILE LOCKON, MISSILE LOCKON

    GTAHoodz...

I'm already there, but I kinda think I've seen (some of) those models showcasted before. Also half your sections seem to be empty which is why I voted for "needs more work", cause it does .

    GTAHoodz...

Lol @ "Click Here to see it larger". Nice model though (y). What else you got?
  4. He still has a point though . Anyway, at the hope of not being intrusive, could you plz tell us something more about how you're gonna go about the next vers aiming system, or what you're planning to make it "feel" like? How different from this or past releases do you expect it to be? And will this fall under the new core redisigning, or is it kinda unrelated? Hope you answer .
  5. Always had that prob myself, since the game will usually crash every 30 mins or so and you end up listenin to the same mp3's over and over again. That's what's made me switch the radio off when I'm in cars in MTA. If only there was an mp3 pointer save like in SP savegames, or a randomizing proggy that didn't work by renaming the shortcuts...
  6. I'd still maintain that it's more the range of gameplay freedom and opportunities than the simple size of a game's world that determines its worth in the end, but since you've already made your mind up, anything more would probably be superfluous.

You'd have to fall from fuc, king Mars to get killed in VC, or start with a hp stat of <10, so for all practical intents and purposes the freefall damage system isn't realistic. But who gives a fu,ck anyway? So what if you don't die and only lose 30hp's max? You really want that much to be effectively stranded everytime some1 with a chopper leaves you on top of a building? You want to visit the spawn location even more often? What's the big gameplay gain from this? If you want a more realistic approach to falling, just type /kill after you fall from any height over 60ft, really simple.
  9. Can you also plz synchronize VC takeoff and landing air traffic according to Miami's nearest airport flights schedule, can you, can you ?
  10. Yeah and what about mist, or hail, or even tornadoes, hurricanes and other natural disasters and weather phenomena? Or how about earthquakes or tidal waves? Maybe have B-52's circle around over Vice and randomly bomb places? AlL u$eFu1 6AmeplaY @dDi7ions!!11 Are we overboard again yet or not ?
  11. You thought right. Also there's the dodo, uncategorized (i.e. more) weapons and the subway system, all unique to GTA3, but it still isn't as good a game as VC in the end. BTW he said he couldn't afford both games IJ.
  12. Grim your sig's link to Stunt'd is outdated. Can you tell me where I could find the vid now?
  13. On a related issue, I think I've isolated the sticky/unselectable Tec-9 bug to a particular pickup location, seen below. Get that SMG any other way and you shouldn't ever experience this. For those of you that never got it before and don't know what I'm talking about, this problem basically screws with your weapon selection, as you can't roll past slot 4 (shotties) going up, or below slot 6 (assault rifles) sifting down. You'll see the Tec-9's icon flash momentarily and then it'll go back to your previous slot gun so you're never able to choose it unless you TAB replace it with another SMG in which case the bug goes away. Also picking the same weapon while you're getting this won't help resolve it I believe, but you can try n' post your finds if you care enough to test this. Since I don't remember reading anywhere something more specific about this, I just thought I'd mention it.
  14. No, you're actually right. And about walking and firing SMG's: Uz-I (Uzi): Standing MP (MP5): Standing Mac (Silenced Ingram Mac 10): Walking Tec-9: Walking
  15. Yeah the thing is because of the pretty different look n' feel of the two games - the one a dark, chilly and gloomy NY kinda style and the other a cheerful, bright and sunny Miami-like place - it's really rare to find some1 that likes both games the same. Ppl usually take a side because of this and personally I think I lean more towards Vice myself (LC really worked for the mood it wanted to set though). Anyway, VC doesn't have any hills, or generally the same variety of places n stuff cause it had to be created in much less time than GTA3 and when you rush things, they usually don't come out as good as they could have. That's why you only get 2 major isles instead of 3 that are flat and kinda monotonous and why they tried to get ppl's minds off that by giving them internal areas, other vecs like bikes n' helis and some more varied mini-games. Still, I think they managed to make an overall better game with those gameplay changes and additions and that's why its fan base is as big as it is now. I mean hey, we're still bothering to play that old ass game and its fansites are quite a few too; it has to be half good. I'd say go for VC first and as suggested before, try gettin it cheap through ebay. or some 2nd hand place or something. PS: BTW I think GTA3 has far less servers cause it's one version behind MTA:VC, not because ppl dislike it.
  16. Last time I try reviving this, as no one seems to give a damn . Frustrating to think that some ppl could have those in their comps and be able to enjoy them at any time, but the rest of us may never get a chance to do that at all... Check this thread's first post for a status update on the missing vids and let me know if there's an error regarding any file reported offline that you know to be uploaded and working. Also note that the hosting addresses now aren't direct file links, rather they point to the vids details page @ TGA and thus should be left clicked. Plz help us in this effort if you can ppl, thx.
  17. What 6 mins? The preview is 3:16 If you're gonna quote something, make sure you also mention the source . "Assuming can sometimes make an ass out of you and me." - Skeeter, Fallout 2 Your badly edited, uncompressed and dreary sound-wise, freakishly visual-FX riddled attempt at a stunt vid preview. I loved it ! Nah seriously now, you got some really interesting stunts in there - including the probably longest grind to date in front of the NPM much to Andy's unrest I think . The thing is, this vid's editing approach wasn't all that spectacular IMO and I caught myself more than once thinking stuff like "why didn't they just stick with the basics?". I'd urge you to think it over one more time before you decide to go with this editing (and camera angle) style. Also I trust the audio in the final cut will be mp3 compressed and of constant volume . A note on stunt showcasting: IMO using cinematics along with the traditional mid-distance-chase-view should be encouraged. My objection is to their time placement within the stunt clip, as I believe you should try to keep the action linear-like without ending up showing the same stunt twice just to offer a different angle aspect. That mentality is present in many recent action movies as well, especially sci-fi ones, and it involves something like having an A and B feed (A being generally the "main" or traditional and B the shorter cinematix scenes) and editing them like this: A 00:00 - 00:01 B 00:00.5 - 00:01.1 A 00:01.1 - 00:02 B 00:01.80 - 00:02.2 ... ... ... This way you see a clip that is of course longer than the stunt itself, but still retains a linear feel to it and has some cool FX too. Anyway, just a pointer/opinion. BTW have you decided on the end reso, encoding, framerate and bitrate? If not, might I suggest something alone the lines of Metus, say 640x480, DivX 5.1 or WMV 9 one pass @ about 1200-1400Kbps with 30fps? Hope my comments helped. PS: What's with that title anyway ? Why anathema?
  18. Just reminded me of something I wanted to ask for some time now (well actually ever since I started playing MTA back in the days of vers .2). It's kinda funny too how this whole "getting jacked" vehicle exiting issue just became so transparent to me that now I just consider it normal. So now I'm just gonna pretend I'm completely new to MTA and ask anyway: Why when you get jacked you exit the vehicle by being displaced above the driver's seat (with the consequences in the choppers' case known to all of you)? Is it because the "open door, throw driver out" animation is missing? If so, couldn't you just hard code to the client an offset of your own, for example a few feet to the left and not above the vehicle? If not, what triggers this? Might as well ask this too. Since you decided to create the cop career and give armour only to them, why not have a few more armour pickups just like the case with health ones is; I mean the concept is the same after all. The way things are now, there are only 2 ways to replenish your armour (except for dying of course): getting in the VCPD van for the first time after a spawn and the pickup in the WBPD locker room. So how about it folks? And one last thing. Why the car changes in vers .3? Boredom? Better yet (since changing the car models around in itself isn't necessarily a bad thing), why take out the Vercetti Mansion white Mav and put a fokn sparrow there? That damn heli sux even more than the Hunter. IMO some cars need to be replaced with faster ones to help ppl get around quicker. I'm not saying that only the fastest sports cars should be there, as others have a distinct personality of their own as well, such and the firetruck, the linerunner, the packer and the very very popular Mr. Whoopie . But plz get rid of those damned box cars and maybe the securicar too cause they're even worse than walking. That's all. Hope you consider some of the above, thx for reading.
  19. Was playin @ the VCES serv a while ago with some ULK and VCES folks and I somehow the Tommy spawnin bug came up. I was expectin it to crash like any second, but it didn't and I even got cocky enough to start goin around drivin, shootin ppl and even keep on respawnin as Tommy quite a few times just south of the WK Chariot hotel. Others said my skin was VCP cop, but I didn't get any armour, or even weaps which kinda sucked, so I just /quit it n reloaded in the end. Here's a few pics: Edit: Ah damnit, sorry for the allignment fuxup folks. Don't really want to resize em though, cause the text n such stuff look all shitty when shrunk. Hope you don't mind . BTW I kinda play at this serv a lot since it's closer to me (UK) than most american ones, but because of the high head count, there were still times when my ping would spike up to the 900s and slowly come down again. Like I've been sayin, there's not much I can really do, as I always kill all other net accessing progs before firin up MTA, but it never makes any difference when many ppl play on a serv. That's why it kinda makes me cranky to be hearin ppl go "fix your con" or whatever from time to time. It's really out of my hands ppl, sorry. I mean if you think it sucks playing against a lagger, imagine what it's like for me being stuck with it all the time. Hopefully I'm getting a 384/128 aDSL con soon, but generally ppl on dialup suffer as much as you do per high ping fight, only with everyone and not just one guy out of a bunch. Anyway, just wanted to get that out of my chest, so I'll just close with a "soz bout that, been fun n' cya again" to all I played with this afternoon . Oh, almost forgot! To the thread creator: HIJACKED BIATCH!!111 :p
  20. He didn't say they're right to be sayin that, of course the MTA team has to give its consent before any modding on it can begin. All he said was that as a question/argument it holds some merit and isn't as obvious and self-explanatory, hence stupid, as the rest that were posted here.
  21. Yet again you get caught talking through your favourite bodypart that is your ass and yet again you're doing a pathetic job of trying to mop the shit up. Below are some facts for your enjoyment: - Of course he didn't search then; he was new to these forums and even said so himself. That was to be expected and I dunno wtf is has to do with anything? The "Seek and ye shall find" line was directed to someone who already knew about that CRC theory from the moment it was posted, namely me. - Now when ppl come here asking for help with something you don't butt in to post your piece of spam about how they should be using the search function and whatnot unless you're 100% sure you have a solution for them, or that one can be found at all. If neither is true, you're not really helping. Generally that's a rule of thumb, but to you it's probably a first. So how's it besides the point if you're replying to that in your usual wiseass prick style and as it turns out you're not even giving him a solution to his problem? - Later on I come posting myself to hint to you that nothing can completely eliminate the CRC timeouts, but you ignore that too and reply to me in the usual KFG fashion. - For someone that supposedly knows where they're sending the newb with their link, you also ignored (or even missed) the fact that that wasn't really a solution in the first place as the editing of the post 1 month ago showed ("I HAVE JUST FOUND OUT THIS DOES NOT WORK ALTHOUGH IT HELPS A BIT!"). Dunno, maybe you need even thicker glasses... Still Clouseau wonders off to crack the next case. - Finally, 12 days later he's so frustrated he makes a new thread about the same thing cause obviously nothing including your "fix" has solved his problem and when I let you know just so you won't have any illusions about it (and post it again sometime in the future), you nag n' pout the way you did. But of course I don't have a point as usual... Well, I hope this made my point if you didn't get it the first time dickhead. Now go shove that pic of you where the sun don't shine and here's a tip for next time as well: if you're gonna give ppl advice or "solutions" in your half-assed posts, try throwing in something like a "maybe", or an "I think" somewhere to make sure you got your bases covered just in case, since you clearly don't know half as well as you think you do half of the things you think you do and the things you really know, you know less than half about than what you think you do. And it shows.
  22. Right back at you. http://forum.mtavc.com/viewtopic.php?t=6756
  23. I don't think it's the netcode's job to interpolate the data. Other parts of the client deal with that. Also, "interpolate random guessed packets of data" is a misconception; interpolation of data you got will give you a guess of data that should be inbetween those to make the transitions smoother.
  24. Just use UnFREEz to make the stills time longer...
