haha yeah that JPG stuff is used by DirectX we never utilized any JPG code directly, there's no need to.. MTA doesn't even export its screenshots to JPG.. Just a DX thing
-
we will when its ready we are still adding a lot of functionality to the addon code base itself, and without BLUE being closer to completion its hard to fully test everything before we release... We will try to get the addon code released whenever we feel its ready. Kent
-
this is why we don't support mods yet...we'll do so with blue, because the new core has the proper structure to do so . Kent

Switching to DSL gave me serious real server issues.
Kent747 replied to :cMc:jacoB's topic in General MTA:VC
if you're behind a router you'll also need to forward the ports that you are using for MTA and [ASE (if its a public server)]. the manual should tell you what ports you'll need to forward. -
there is still quite a bit of work left to be done w/ the addon interfacing for the server... however we plan on allowing serverside addons to utilize such functions as kicking and banning, so yes.. the server addon is a viable method of doing some admin type function.. at this point the server can only load 1 addon at a time (same for client)... so as far as that is concerned ti would be best to communicate with other addon developers and work on ways to implement your features.. This shouldn't be too much of a hinderence given the nature of C++, and that we will provide a webspace for addon developers to meet and trade knowledge and insight. Kent

he has a point though, he's talking about blue, which people will get a lot of control for such purposes.. Kent

going from Java to C/C++ would be more painless than many other languages.. I think if you are an adept programmer in any language, you can learn enough C++ to code an addon.

Hi Guys need a lil Help with using MTA ?

are you sure you are trying to connect to servers running v 0.4.1? -

you can only change that once you are connected to a server... from the looks of the screenshot you were disconnected because it was an incompatible version of MTA... either you need to update, or the person running the server needst o update. -
"Bitch Packing".. what will happen with this in the new core
Kent747 replied to Bungle's topic in General Blue discussion
to put it bluntly, we can't tell him.. he could however write some c++ addon code to make it work... and release the code to that so other people can include it with the addons correctly. -
if you can't join your own server using your external ip ( the one from whatismip.com) then the problem lies within forwarding ports.. I'd double check everything, somehow your ports aren't being forwarded. Kent
-
make sure you forwarded your ports correctly also you should verify you actually gave them your ip (if you are behind a router the ip you get from ipconfig is not your public ip. head over to http://www.whatismyip.com and send htem that ip for them to connect to. Good Luck Kent

"Bitch Packing".. what will happen with this in the new core
Kent747 replied to Bungle's topic in General Blue discussion
as far as aeron writing MTAMA in the future, he could possibly write a C++ addon to do some of its features, but it'd be rather different than in the past.. it wont be quite as trivial as a task to hack the netcode as it has been for him in the past. Kent -
in your addon you can define whatever cars you want.. one could also code it in such a way that you only have to edit a text file used by the server to change what and where cars are spawned. Kent
-
sorry we can't leave topics like these open... you should look elsewhere. Kent
-
the new netcode hasn't been finalized yet, we are still finding more ways to compress data, as it is now, its much more efficient than the previous core, but we aren't going to stop there the real issue has more to do with the structure of GTA and perhaps some new implementations to the server... either way we'd rather it be stable with less players than giving people the ability to create an arbitrary number of max players and have stability problems. Kent
-
you could probably simulate it in an addon but it'd be a bit tricky heh
-
i think it would be a good idea to familiarize yourself with the language http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/ if you can get through sections 3 and most of 4 you should be good... anyone who wants a freeware ide for creating win32 C++ apps should check out bloodshed http://www.bloodshed.net/devcpp.html

hey glad to see you are interested.... we've been considering map mods in future releases, and its likely we will try to implement it, however it may make for some large downloads (obviously), as well as some tricky subjects that addon devs may have to deal with ( I don't want to say too much without knowing how we are going to implement the system ) anyways, welcome back, glad to see you can get past any personal issues and develop something for the good of the community... best of luck, Kent

For the love of god!! these things must be in mta blue!!!
Kent747 replied to -i.Tanner's topic in General Blue discussion
money/weapon dropping is feasible with the addon... custom skins?? we're not there yet, we may try to implement that, but its not the top of our priorities Kent -
The Consoles Are Holding Back The GTA Series From Supremacy
Kent747 replied to ELEMENT3465's topic in General MTA discussion
i couldn't disagree with you more... I think one of the major advantages the pc has over consoles is not only graphics, its the game play.. nothing is superior than WASD and a mouse... i play doom3 and I play it on the lower settings, and its still a great game.. Kent -
this problem doesn't exist in blue either.
-
and we are still working on some parts of it.. most of the shooting code is about done though Kent
-
basically yeah you gotta hook the rendering code Kent
-
if we don't include glueing code with blue (its likely we wont because its more of an addition than keeping true to the game), then we'll probably release some code so that addon developers can implement this themselves. Kent
