  1. You're welcome to host MTA on your site as long as you don't change any of the files.
  2. It's not just you. Several other people are experiencing this.
  3. Yes, it won't work with anything other than an uncensored v1.0 exe.
  4. Do you have a firewall blocking MTA from accessing the internet? It's unable to communicate with either the master server or the server you're trying to connect to, so it must be a problem with your connection.
  5. Slush, could the sound be overlaid over the game?

    Ports?

    He means routers, not firewalls.
  7. I agree. I'd prefer to have a zoomable overhead view for placing objects, with the option to cut to the "free" camera for previewing it. I also had the idea of a simpler road placement system from Railroad Tycoon. In that game, you just click and drag and road segments are added to the map. When you reach a hill, the road segments automatically change angle to fit the slope of the hill. It'd be more intuitive than the current system BUT you'd reach the object limit a lot sooner.
  8. It could be the simple fact that you didn't press Refresh (possibly) or it could be a firewall on your machine that is blocking MTA from accessing the internet.
  9. Do you have either Windows XP, 2000 or Win Server 2003? The old core used to do that if you tried to run it on Windows 9x.
  10. Sometimes Windows prompts you, sometimes it doesn't.
  11. You'll need to tell the Livebox which PC on the network it is supposed to be forwarding the data to by entering its static LAN IP address (normally starts with 192.)
  12. I like Bump's idea about a central vehicle change pickup. You could use an MTAMA script to detect when the player with the vehicle is either killed or successfully enters the enemy's base, thus terminating the map. Blue does report such data back to MTAMA, doesn't it?
  13. Where did you hear 76%? I thought it was 2.76%... What's the point in creating these hoax release dates? What exactly does it achieve?
  14. Doesn't it have all of those things except number of downloads? Nope, you can't order by date added and there's no option to keep yourself logged in, although I know that the latter is being worked on.
  15. There's nothing you can do except get a new ISP.
  16. He means he would like to know how to inplement a rudimentary version in R1.
  17. Yes, you want this to make as little impact on your bandwidth as possible.
  18. My understanding was that you can set up RSS "profiles" in your account and then import them into this program. To avoid poor quality races, do a search for races with 4 stars or above and then click the RSS button to create a feed.
  19. You can set respawn intervals for pickups. You'd have to set it really high so that it doesn't respawn back before the end of the map though.
  20. As people may be aware, we switched our webserver software just after the MTA release, as our old webserver could not cope with the number of hits our site is getting. This has caused a few issues with the parts of MTA that interact with our webserver - the anti-cheat and the rss map downloader. This is because our new webserver seems less to follow a smaller subset of the HTTP protocol, either way, the end effect is that the anti-cheat definition files fail to download (see an older blog post for a manual solution for this) and the rss map downloader fails to actually do any downloading! Anyway, we'll be releasing a new server soon to fix this issue with anti-cheat and a few other issues, but in the meantime, I've just quickly fixed the RSS map downloader. If you run a MTA server, you should download this fix. Currently it is only avaliable for Windows, we expect to release a linux version tomorrow (Wednesday). You can download the Windows fix here. We've had loads of maps submitted to our MTA center in the few hours its been up - if you run a server, go and download some, if you play them, go and comment and rate them!
  21. Yes, no-one's currently sure what the problem is caused by. Some people experienced this in 0.5 as well. We think it's an ASE issue but they give absolutely no support at all (probably because MTA isn't paying them).
  22. Yes, let's, otherwise I will be forced to lock this.

    Ports?

Remember that the ASE port is the game port + 123.
  24. I never said I wanted to make my own straight map, and why would I if I don't own a server to play with the only ones I like? *cough* http://center.mtasa.com . Server admins can automatically download uploaded maps from that site (should they wish to).
