  1. People seem to misuderstand how the modding system works. It's not designed so that your single player mods automatically work on it, although a lot of people seem to think this. It's designed so that you can create your own mods for it or port existing ones across to multiplayer. The team has planned a VC release, but don't expect it for a while as SA is their current priority.
  2. Windows has accessibility features that can hold keys down automatically for users who may not be able to press multiple keys at once for one reason or another. Are you sure that you don't have this switched on accidentally? (note: even if you don't specifically switch it on in the Control Panel, there are keyboard shortcuts that you may have inadvertently pressed) Regarding the latter, this is known. It will probably be added once Blue mods are given access to GUI functions in a future release.
  3. I got the impression that that comment was targeted more at half-assed mods that last a week and then die, rather than the more established mods such as Rumble and SA/VC-MP.
  4. Well, it's more the method of respawning that's being considered. Should players only be respawned in DM maps with no checkpoints? And if so, where? Or should they also spawn in race? But do they spawn at the start or at the last checkpoint they passed (if it's the latter, should they not be "punished" for dying?)?
  5. The DM mode is currently in development. See the blog for more details: http://www.mtavc.com/blog/
  6. I've noticed that some of the more established maps have, for example, 4 out of 5 stars with 10 votes. I'd much rather play these maps than the maps with exactly 5 stars from 3 votes because the former have been under greater scrutiny, yet still retained a high rating. To me, this would imply that these maps are considered to be good by a greater number of peope than the maps with a higher rating but only a few votes. In short, I think the number of votes should be taken into account when rating maps.
  7. The default port is 22003, but clients don't need to open ports. If you're having problems connecting, check that a firewall on your system is allowing MTA access to the internet.
  8. I think this error occurs when you haven't filled in all of the META data for the map (e.g. author, description, etc) in the map editor.

    MTA = Virus

*sigh* No, that's your antivirus program being too zealous. Because MTA hacks GTA's memory, certain anti-virus programs think it is a virus. If you downloaded it from the official site then it's certainly not a virus. Anti-virus companies have been informed but they refuse to do anything about it because they prefer to mislead their customers. I'm glad I'm not one...
  10. They can kill each other... sometimes.
  11. Now people can download it and run it on their server, should they wish to.
  12. The in-game server browser uses ASE, so you will need to unblock it. You will also need to configure your router (if you have one) to send requests on those ports directly to the host machine.
  13. Respawning is being considered for a later release.
  14. Yes, it counts it as a cheat. Hopefully this will be remedied in a later version. Added to the troubleshooting section of the Wiki btw: http://www.mtavc.com/docu/index.php/MTA ... leshooting
  15. Yeah, it takes a couple of minutes for the game to update the map list though.
  16. There was nothing wrong with your original post. It's the other posts. Even though you state that you are neutral towards SA-MP, you are still a beta tester: http://www.sa-mp.com/news/data/upimages/sampqry2.jpg . Maybe that affects your judgement, maybe it doesn't. I think both you and Ransom overreacted a little. But Ransom is correct in saying that there seem to be more SA-MP fanboys than MTA ones. That's probably because it's less well-known and so the people who support it are more passionate about it. I know, I'm a Mac fan There is only one thread on GTAF for MTA discussions, and I've seen very few threads even mention MTA (normally it's a comparison between the two mods, but not biased towards MTA). Either way, as Kent points out, this is not really the place to discuss it. You're welcome to open up a thread in another section of the forum if you can keep it free of flame wars (towards either mod).
  17. I always thought that was a problem with my gamepad, but obviously not then I'd imagine it has something to do with the players being locked onto the bike.

    Tanks

Tanks can damage each other but the weapon firing is not completely synced, so sometimes your hits will not register. I have managed to kill people by firing at them though. Hopefully when weapon sync is added for DM, they will improve vehicle weapon code.
  19. Yes, I get that too, PacMaan. My connection has a habit of disconnecting for a fraction of a second and then reconnecting again, which means that sometimes I miss the packets from the server that start the race.
  20. Actually, no-one said the race mod would be a revolution. The final version of Blue with footsync, weapon code and the SDK was marketed as a revolution. P.S. Aren't you an SA-MP beta tester?
  21. Do you not read dialog boxes? It's a welcome message, not an error. You have to press Ok.
  22. It could be a bug or it could be the fact that they're using the water modification tool.
